Discussion: Darren Wilson Supporters Crowdfund 'Pants Up, Don't Loot' Billboard

Discussion for article #230248

What an asshole, funded by assholes, backed by assholes, planning an asshole spectacle to satisfy their selfish and racist asshole beliefs.

I sincerely hope this bullshit gets the vandalism it so richly deserves.

Billboard permits are public information, local mostly, but also federal if it’s anywhere near a federal highway. The people funding this racist nonsense can be uncovered I bet. If not, someone call Anonymous.

I’m sure the residents of Ferguson will appreciate anything that out-of-state gasbags can do to further inflame the situation there.

Any company that puts this racist dogwhistle hashtag on a billboard is worthy of national exposure and humiliation.

I’m a little concerned that the sheer stupidity of this signage campaign could cause widespread seizures like that famous Pokémon episode.

Not THAT’s race baiting.

Concern conshmern haha. I’m sticking with hope…hoping this stunt actually encourages folks to riot even more. Fuck this shit. If the response to people highlighting and responding poorly to demonstrable inequality and systemic, institutionalized discriminatory mistreatment in this country is going to be wealthy white fucktards spending their money to throw racist bullshit in everyone’s face, then I say it’s far past time to bust out the puitchforks and burn some shit down.

This kinda smells like a scam.

Yes, and let’s see if any of the billboard owners will accept their money. The RWNJs will cry “Freedom of Speech”, but billboards are owned by commercial companies and they have their standards and practices, just like TV. I’m intimately familiar with these rules, and just because you have the money doesn’t mean that you get to say whatever you want - and even on 1st amendment grounds, this is right in the bullseye of Justice Holmes’s “shouting fire in a crowded theater” exception.

Most of the billboards in metro areas are controlled by large corproations whose clients in turn are large brands such as McDonalds, Coca-Cola, and the automakers. None of their real clients would be very pleased about their names being associated with this kind of crass expression.

“Photo illustrations” like this one, which depict something that has not taken place (a billboard with that wording on the side of an actual building), are bullshit. They are the cheapest form of clickbait. TPM needs to stop this practice.

On the bright side the assholes are outing themselves.

That billboard won’t last long.

Why the racism? I mean you can support the guy without attacking the dead.

The fact that the first hashtag is about 21st-Century lynching and the second about wardrobe choices says pretty much everything.

the murderer is probably a dead man walking, as those who recognize the probablility that the murderer will not receive justice from Nixon and the other right wing garbage trace the movements of the murderer, and plant a bounty on his head. Of course this action won’t serve justice either, but imo better serves the nation than the actions of those who let this murderer off the hook. If that indeed happens.

I wonder what would happen if all the protesters showed up in 3-piece suits and whiteface?

They forgot their signature line: “#NotARacist”

Fox Snooze would run with this “proof of liberal racism” 24/7 for a month.

CNN and MSNBC would apologize to Reince Preibus.
