The cuts begin so that there is enough tax breaks for all those job creators that employ so many that pay taxes to pay for the cost of a sound financial system within the state.

They have already sold most of the state’s real estate. I guess they could turn I-70 from Topeka to the Colorado border into a toll road. Maybe they could do the same with a lot of side streets. Of course, they could repeal some of the tax cuts Brownback promised would lead to a Laffer Renaissance. The room fills with laughter at the thought of any ideologue Republican admitting his favorite pipedream has gone up in smoke.

Brownback and his TP Legislature have no real clue how to handle public money. They’re selling State office Buidlings (SOBs) to raise money to pay for their tax cuts, tearing other SOBs down because maintenance costs too much, reducing state employee pensions, reducing State employment to the point that they aren’t even able to do the work they were hired to do, privatizing everything they can to get it out of the State’s responsibility to pay for it, and minimizing the expenditures for public education. In their minds, the rich areas have more money, so they can afford to have better schools than the rural, population-starved areas where money is a declining resource. OK. Fine! Let 99% of the physical land area of this state dry up and blow away in the wind. Consolidate Congressional Districts 3 and 4 because no one is left who can fund public schools.
