Time for POTUS to step up and give us a Jim Jones finish.
The Republican Party has been a cult of worshipers since the days of Reagan. Not much is different today except that the cult idol is an oaf and a bully.
So this is what courage on the right looks like now? Corker mewling in a hallway? So impressive.
Here’s an idea: Every time a convenient never-Trumper gets camera time by saying something like this, let’s throw up his Voting-With-Trump percentage right next to his mouth.
So you and either McCain or Flake or Collins switch parties and then you’ll be able to stand up to Trump very well. Until then, this is just empty talk.
Meanwhile, in Texas. Iowa
Jesus Bob, go grab Flake or Collins and caucus with the Dems for a while. Voila, problem solved!

hey, that’s IOWA, I grew up in King’s district… although I see why you may have immediately thought “Texas”, considering Gohmert dwells there.
For those that actually have differing views from Trump, this is pronounced “cowardice”, so Corker should just call it as such. However Corker’s saying this like Trump is some random interloper, whose views are at odds with the party platform, rather than a Frankenstein’s monster created out of 30 years of increasing batshittery and engineered outrage.
If you got yourselves in a no-win situation by being cowards and punks, it usually doesn’t occur to you that since you have to take your lumps anyway you might as well do the right thing. That’s Corker’s problem. A cult is made up of true believers. These guys are just gutless time-servers who wouldn’t buck Satan if they had a net loss of one vote from it. They know the trade stuff is crazy. If it’s a cult it’s a cult of slavish cowardice.
It’s not about Trump – it’s about the GOP’s Fox News brainwashed base. Just ask Sanford.
We’ve haven’t gone totally off the rails yet into oligarchy and/or facisicm so I’ll take care to remind Sen. Corker that in our democracy, it is the people who hold the ultimate power and there is where your cult lives.
