One good thing about Facebookā€¦ idiots post their true selves there and for some reason think they are invisible.

For people who like to act as tough and strong as they do, cops sure do seem to have thin skins and delicate little fee-fees.

He should be fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement ā€“ or really any position of authority ā€“ ever again.

From the articleā€¦ ā€œAt the end of the day these are the people we entrust with guns to legally kill people to legally protect and serve people. We are glad that the chief of police has taken swift and decisive action,ā€ Forward said.

Iā€™m so glad the first thing he mentions is to legally kill and not to protect and serve. Sometimes the truth slips out.

Most police departments are riddled with bigots and racists. The sad truth is, police are mostly charged with the duty of making sure the ā€œdangerous classesā€ are beaten down and constantly harassed. Go watch some Noam Chomsky on this very issue. Police are primarily the strong arm of the white, elite power structure across the US. And, most police operate without the slightest fear of being arrested and/or prosecuted for what amounts to politically sanctioned murder (of certain unwanted citizens). I hope this cop loses his job and finds it hard to get hired for anything other than a school crossing guard.

Union will sue, heā€™ll be reinstated, given a raise and promoted to captain. Thatā€™s the usual pattern right?

A basic lack of empathy is becoming the national characteristic. For religious folks, I recall another societyā€™s similar descent: Gen. 19.

Yes, with the obligatory racing to a podium surrounded by black people and/or statements of ā€œThese are not my values, this is not who I amā€¦ā€

Yesterday in New York a cop was convicted of manslaughter in the killing of an African American man in a dark stairwell.

You will not be happy about this unfolding in San Francisco. African American Mario Woods shot 20 times by cops, but 27 bullet casings were found on the ground. Lots of finger pointing.

Iā€™m starting to feel like they go out of their way to recruit people who were scared of the dark when they were kids. They seem to be awfully afraid a lot of the time in circumstances that objectively donā€™t seem to warrant being afraid. Maybe afraid enough to crouch but not afraid enough to start shooting.

Saw that. Happened, what, five years ago? Thing about it is it may have been just a rookie fuck-up and he did receive the appropriate sentence. He looks like a sacrificial lamb compared to what the NYPD has otherwise gotten up to and never even charged FOR.

heā€™s canned. There is no ā€˜free speechā€™ policy, if that particular policy (posting while on duty) was approved by the union.

He will get law enforcement work elsewhere, but heā€™s likely done in Fairborn.

ā€œIā€™m glad someone is deadā€ is never an attractive sentiment. There are some people whose deaths I would not mourn for a variety of reasons but I would never say either beforehand or afterwards. Itā€™s the lack of expectation of accountability that makes my blood boil. Like, he didnā€™t even have to try to hide his real feelings. Not many of us go through life getting that, and most of us donā€™t even want it. Cops seem to think itā€™s a perk of the job and glory in the ability to get away with it.
