OT, but isn’t the Mazars case supposed to be decided soon? I thought the judge was fast tracking it.
Removing the draft bought off the middle class. Gave them a “What me worry” attitude about wars because they would be fought by poor rural whites and urban Blacks and Hispanics.
FUCK OFF with this “in private” the republicans are appalled with Trump or support impeachment, or whatever. You don’t get points for private positions. Stand up publicly or you’re lumped in with the supporters and enablers.
“Privately I’m aghast at what my public persona as a serial killer makes me do!”
/Susan Collins voice
You are so right Ralph.
And why are the Democrats playing so nicely into this picture of Republican traitors? They “look” weak? No, they either are weak or they are complicit. I have lost any hope of any politicians using their power to obliterate this menace. We watch helplessly as we careen toward a certain massive disaster. It’s inevitable and insane.
The only hope is if people lead.
And some of these “what me worry” drones wax (falsely and with a self-serving intent) poetically about “supporting our troops”.
There was an excellent dramatization of this attitude in the film “The Lucky Ones”. In it, a wounded female NCO (accompanied by two of her Army companions) was rudely insulted by a preppie in a tavern.
And there was a more grotesque insult coming for the trio in the Plains states (paraphrasing):
A prosperous businessman type asked the older of the trio “why were they fighting?” The man replied that sometimes it comes down to staying alive. The businessman said, “You are fighting for THAT? No wonder we’re losin’!”
They would need an induced “reality-similar” experience or ACTUAL REALITY of having to live with no democracy (as many people I count as friends have done).
Bless him, hope it’s sooner rather than later…
I’m a W-2 contractor - I get neither benefits nor vacation. Thank G-d for my husband who carries my health insurance.
I know whereof you speak.
Oh sure, Republicans in private say they’re “troubled” and maybe even “concerned”. BFD.
So he’s spoken to Republicans that think trump is a criminal, but not to any who’d vote to remove him.
Headline: GOP elected official think crime is okay.
I think Coons may be doing a very devious thing by the way he said this. All the republican senators he’s talked to are going to be flailing around trying to avoid trump’s wrath, and the internal policing will be stepped up.
Gutless worms!
Nicole - please look up the definition of ‘alluded’.
The only hope is if people lead.
Are YOU part of the “people” for which you speak? Well then, you’re either weak or complicit.
Rubin always make sense. She may have started out with R credentials but she’s clearly and unequivocally opposed to trumpism.
The left was complacent in 2016, quite different than “stupid”, partly because we’d been told, no, assured that Clinton’s victory was in the bag. We saw the difference in 2018 when some of those same complacent voters got up of their sofas and turned in record numbers. It’ll happen again in 2020
Explain further if you can about Democrats looking weak. Or being complicit. Also, explain how it is people, and who exactly are they, will lead and to what? You’re laying down some slogans which people will say fuckin’ A to, but how does it work, this insurrection thing you’re proposing. Or maybe you’re proposing Democrats work outside the Constitution and established boundaries as the repub are doing.
Def should have been “suggested.”
How miserable it must be for them.
