That would be glorious. Seriously, that’s the best case scenario. That way he leaves on his own accord and no one on our side can be accused of hypocrisy. McConnell and GOP leadership would look like even bigger fools than than they already are.

Let’s hope then that the Dems can change the rules to confirm Supreme Court justices with a majority, if Schumer, the probable senate majority leader, has the GUTS.

My bad. 1950 was the year I was thinking about. Truman ran in '48 against the “Do-nothing, good-for-nothing 80th Congress,” but Congress didn’t turn over until the next midterms.
