Yes, Kansas will be in a better position in '18, but that also does not discount the chances of Thompson right now. Thus far, i’ve been very impressed by Thompson’s campaign, and the State Party in his support. I’ve never seen the State party demonstrate this extent of unity around any candidate, ever. This is a very good learning opportunity for the State Dems to galvanize support and bodies for future campaigns. Plus, i’d just add that it is easier for a candidate to win a single, partial-state race than for the entire state to override a governor’s veto. Change is won in small steps. KS-04 is doable.
