As you rightly point out… the Justice is mistaken here. There is a direct problem for which this is the corporate proposed solution…
To every single shthead that voted for anyone not named SoS Clinton: I hope you suffer consequences beyond your reckoning. Of course, that won’t happen. Because all the shtheads who didn’t vote for SoS Clinton had more than enough privilege to avoid the very consequences that many here warned of and came true.
Damn you to hell.
Since a census is required by the Constitution, at what point is an inaccurate Census unconstitutional?
Meh, not sure I totally buy that. I’m more in line with them being rather intelligent, it’s just that to come up with the Right decision, they often have to ignore logic, law, history and everything else to come up with some justification of why they decided the way that they did.
Much easier for the more ‘liberal’ members, who frustrate folks because they maintain steady jurisprudence, and won’t switch their vote depending on who is in front of them.
On the upside, if they stopped ignoring or denying science and statistics, they’d be better equipped to make better brazenly partisan decisions.
Thanks, Mitch, for dirty politics at the Supreme Court. You’re a monster doomed for dis-election.
Run for office, folks, ESPECIALLY for the US Senate in Texas and Kentucky.
I’ll bet McConnell couldn’t get a real job anywhere in Kentucky, so of course he’ll become a lobbyist for Hobby Lobby or something.
RUN FOR OFFICE!
At earlier steps in the proceedings, the three most conservative justices already signaled they were inclined to rule in favor of the government.
Who are these three? Out of Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, who qualifies as the “least” conservative?
Gorsuch and Kavanaugh should forever have asterisks by their names for being illegitimate justices appointed by an illegitimate president and Congress. I will never, ever respect their presence on the court, and support anything the Democrats have to do (legally, of course) to mitigate their stolen seats.
And Alito isn’t much better, considering how Bush II won office. Republicans are democracy-hating fascists.
Ok, for those of you too pure to vote or work for Hillary, this is another reminder— ELECTIONS MATTER! We can fight it out between now and July 2020, but once we have someone we have to get behind him or her, and every other candidate that will vote for Leader Schumer or Speaker Pelosi.
Lets go with arm tattoos too
Maybe a bar code so we can track them .
Start Goosesteppin’ baby
It wont be long
What is this “both sides” nonsense?
You just joined TPM four hours ago, and already you’re headed out to lunch?
Their malice does only seem to be tempered by their incompetence.
There seems to be a lack of intellectual curiosity on their part that is a necessary part of being “intelligent.” They have already decided how they will rule, so they don’t do any of the due diligence to provide compelling arguments. That seems lazy and a sign of lack of intelligence to me
If they were truly “intelligent,” they would make strong arguments that could stand the test of time better and push precedent in their preferred direction. It seems like a lot of their “jurisprudence” these days are just asking to be overruled the moment the composition of the court changes. Whereas, the liberal jurisprudence (whether in the minority or not) is more soundly reasoned and likely to stand up to scrutiny should the questions asked come before the court again at a later date.
I was born in this country, my father’s family has been in this country almost 400 years, but I’m just not going to answer that question if it appears on the census.
There are only 51 Republicans. How do you end up with “slim to none”? Let’s not forget that the filibuster for judicial nominations is no longer a thing. Dems only need to net one seat flip in addition to winning the White House.
Trouble is, the people who said/thought that haven’t changed their minds. They think they’re “winning”.
No disagreement with this, just don’t think it touches on their intelligence. To me, the simple fact is that for many of these big political decisions, there aren’t any deep, good reasonings which could be applied.
Take Hobby Lobby. What legitimate argument can really be applied that the “Rights” of a non-person (a corporation) are somehow higher than the Rights of an actual person.
I’m even down with not legally.
Ummm 51 in 2018. More now
This distinction is accurate and regrettable.
