And yet the GOP managed to do it, despite the yuge obstacles in owning the Presidency, Congress, AND the Senate.

Very impressive!

Hey, TPM. Any chance of tracking down and posting the 30 no votes? Just curious…

The vote to raise the debt ceiling in the middle of the Summer is going to make this effort look like a mere two ring circus.

Where are the Democratic surrogates screaming to the rooftops how pathetic it is that the GOP controls every lever of power in DC and yet can’t agree on funding for more than 7 days? WHERE ARE YOU?

Because . . . weekend!

Is there a precedent for a funding measure this short in duration?

Does the Senate still need to vote on it?

So, how would Congress react if they had to do something …ummm… important?

This may have happened during the several debt ceiling fights Obama dealt with. It used to be that Congress routinely and without any difficulty passed an annual budget by October -December of the year preceding the next fiscal year. Fully 6 months in advance so folks could plan their year in due course.
