Discussion: 'Conflicts Prevent' Two Prospective Lawyers From Joining Trump's Team

I hope they at least charged Trump for “opening a folder” in his case.

the conflicts are doing the work with a reasonable expectation of being paid.

Conflict of interest? When did these geniuses figure that out? It’s not new news that the pair have been representing Corallo. So it’s more likely to be lack of personal chemistry as reported or lack of payment. I assume the two come as a package deal?

I’m willing to bet Trump is asking for free representation because in return, the lawyer to be would receive millions in free advertising.

You can take THAT to the bank - so to speak!

What a shame. I was looking forward to their delusional arrogance. They give tRump competition in that category.

“The president is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the president’s special counsel legal team,” Sekulow told the Times.

Meh…It was Joe’s poor taste in neckties that did him in.

You are thinking small. “Billions” is free advertising!

“However, those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the president in other legal matters,” he added. “The president looks forward to working with them.”

Right. So the assistance that is obstructive of justice will be billed as advice on other matters. This is going to be a train wreck of bad legal advice, ongoing conflicts of interest, violations of professional codes of conduct, and mafia lawyering.

PS: To be even more specific: Trump needs lawyers who will actively conspire with him to hide documents, bury the truth, cook up lies, covertly communicate with fellow conspirators and basically do criminal shit that normal lawyers, even those who embrace so-called ‘creative’ or ‘aggressive’ or ‘client-centric’ strategies, will not do. If these two crooks are formally not advising Trump on Mueller, then that will serve as a pretext for not scrutinizing them, since by definition they’re not on the Mueller case.

The Times said Trump “did not believe he had personal chemistry” with the pair.

They didn’t wing their way madly towards his manly pheromones?

Or Skeletons
Big whopping skeletons …
Ones that would not survive any scrutiny
Like Trump they have been circumventing the law for decades
All it would take is one lie in a deposition…
and you know there have been a few.

Are there any lawyers yet to be retained that do not have conflicts?

Hell, even the lawyers are lawyering up for this shit show…

So thay can’t be his lawyers but they can by assisting him? How does that work? Alternate reality! Man, I was hoping they would be there and were Trumps defense team against Mueller. The way things have been going so far, they could screw up a one car funeral. That is NOT a recent picture of them, they aren’t aging well. There is the bottom of the barrel and there is…

So it took this team how many days to determine the diGeonvas have a conflict of interests in representing Trump?

They can’t. Sekulow is full of it,though there is always the chance that Sekulow is too stupid to realize it. It’s not like he has any idea about the rules of ethics.

And we know diGenova and Toensing don’t care about ethics. Their reputation for sleaze has been obvious since the Clinton impeachment. It hasn’t improved with age.

No wonder McGahn is getting the hell out.

If this lawyer had no trouble representing Erik Prince she’d have no trouble papering over any “conflicts” with Trump. No, I think the reason for this car wreck is that Trump is keenly aware of how much Hope Hicks knows, and thus how much she could put him in peril. He got scared when these folks started building a case against Hicks. You don’t piss off the person who knows all your secrets. Unless you’ve chained them to a prenuptial.

Perhaps he’s got to get permission from Putin to spend monies on legal fees. Since it appears that Trump is living off of Putin’s borrowed wealth!

Trump may have a point about “padding the bills”, as he tweeted this morning…
