Discussion: Comey: Probe Started With 'Four Americans Who Had Some Connection' To Trump

I see Thunderclap weighed in upthread.

More than one chuckle on reading his zingers (especially bold-type ones)

I read/ or heard someplace a couple years back when this all started that the FBI did not mention the Trump investigation because it was part of a larger Russian financial crime investigation. They assumed Trump would loose and they didn’t want to tip off any of the Russians about the larger investigation.

They also don’t make musicians read from music 20 feet away and way off to our right. If I had to do that I’d look just as awkward as De Niro did.

Even if people have to look up at a conductor the music is put in the same basic line of sight.

This one was probably particularly awkward (and I find that their sketches are always awkward) mainly just because of some physical logistics, the set didn’t allow for placing the cue card person in a place that would have made it more in line.

Were the names Bonanno, Gambino, Genovese and Lucchese?

You’re ahead in this weekend’s first-round playoffs in TPM Collusionball League. Those four were key early reasons for the initial investigation.

For semifinals next weekend: Pick four people named or implied in next week’s court filings who were key connections from those international playas to the Individual-1 Campaign.

Some of the above posts mention people who are better candidates for next week’s list than for this week.

I actually met Joe Bonnano back in the 1980’s when he was in Tucson. He had an appointment at University Medical Center where I worked. I was passing thru the lobby and stopped to buy a newspaper and turning around there he was and I inadvertently bumped into him. His body guard got close and frowned at me whereupon Joe defused everything by inviting me to lunch in the hospital cafeteria. It was a delightful if unnerving 45 minutes conversation with him.

Remember tho that as the Russians have said… ā€œNot collusion but rather… synergyā€.

Hello Senor Darr. Thank you for your continuing focus on ā€œla fronteraā€.

That was a good one, thanks. I want one of those because it could basically replace my sister and me—we could check in on the old man every couple of months and he could tell the unit his stories because everything that happens reminds him of something not really similar that happened in 1936.

I note that my spellcheck and the AI word features on my phone freaked out when I tried to type ā€œdrunksplainingā€. So, I have switched to the laptop which at least lets me type a mistake and only underlines what it thinks is a mistake by me. Sometimes I wanna kill my phone.

I saw a Steinbeck book once at the Library of Congress that had been edited and sent to him for comment. At one point the editor said a particular thing was an unusual word choice and Steinbeck replied ā€œI know it is but I like it.ā€

Yeah me too. There’s a meme, ā€œDamn You Autocorrect!ā€ You can probably get it to stop doing that if you look in the settings.

Getting the band back together. :sunglasses:
