Discussion: Comey Confirms FBI Is Probing Contacts Between Trump Camp, Russian Officials

His opening statement may have them a little spooked and wondering whether they really want answers or not haha

Uh-oh. MSM and Right Wing Hate Porn Media “Collusion” “Collusion” “Collusion” -not good but not exactly specifically bad and open ended fuzzy now becomes “coordination” between the campaign and Russia’s efforts. IMO, besides admitting the fact of the investigation, this “coordination” is a much bigger slice of specific (Roger Stone talking to Goosifer, anyone?).

It appears the republican strategy here is to attacks leaks/stories about Russian connections, not the fact that there actually are Russian connections and the Russians were fiddling with our electoral process.

Basically…“How dare you investigate that we committed treason and broke the law?? That’s the REAL offense, that you are investigating us!”

The red cross is coordinating with the Air Force to do an airdrop of Kaopectate and baby wipes to 1600.

Oddly, Comey is not the key witness, since he can’t disclose what he knows/is up to. The direct witnesses–Stone, Page, et al–is where the action will be, since new evidence can be elicited from them. That’s where I want to see the question of authorization gone into. Why? Because it almost doesn’t matter if X talks to Russia about bagels and cream or hacking, so long as X is authorized to encourage a rapport and understanding with Russia that results in undisclosed/unstated collaboration. This inquiry is all about who communicated to Page, Stone, Manafort, Kushner, Sessions etc that it would be a good thing to be friends with Russians–and who, in turn, communicated this idea to the person talking to Stone etc.
That’s how you get to the president–not by establishing highly incriminating agreement with Russia, but by establishing that the contacts, whatever their nature, were authorized by Trump.
EDIT: Also, tactically, it is much easier to elicit evidence of authorization at a point when the contacts in question are still ostensibly innocuous. ‘Of course Trump authorized me to buy an ice cream’ is much easier to admit to than "Trump authorized me to collude’. Once you establish the chain of authority, you THEN approach the question of the nature of the contacts–and frankly, the bar for collusion is pretty low once everyone believes that the president gave it a green light.

Pretty sure that everyone knew that Trumpp was being probed regarding the tapps.
Confirmation removes all doubt but it was a foregone conclusion.

President Paranoid is now trying to untweet his mistakes and distract hard. Seeing how his attempt at distraction by making the ridiculous and unfounded claims against Obama in the first place went so well, you’d think that Dumbo would learn, but then again, he’s Dumbo.

Now, the Russian ties investigation is tied to the making false claims investigation in a huge dose of irony that is simply not fixable with elementary tweeting. Doh!

Live by the tweet…Die by the tweet!

Prediction for upcoming tweets;
I am not a criminal :v: :v:
You won’t have Donald Trumpp to kick around anymore :soccer: :football:

whether the government reacted quickly and appropriately to revelations of Russia’s attack on the election.

They should be asking Mitch McConnell that very question…

Are all Republicans—even the lawyers—dumb as Trump?
It’s painful to listen to Gowdy and Nunes and the other guy.

How high does Gowdy jump when he jumps to a conclusion?

I think Cohens involvement is crucial to it…for sure. How could Cohen be acting on his own behalf ?

Without exception, the Republican questioners focus on the terrible, felonious leaks. They’re not “leakers”, they’re whistleblowers.

Effing Gowdy is trying to pin this on the Obama administration.

Maybe not authorized by Trump but maybe Cohen?

I hope the FBI is also investigating Ivanka Trump’s ties to surrogates and agents of Iran’s Republican Guard. She was involved in several suspicious transactions involving large sums of money with Iranian intelligence surrogates. She was cognizant that her corrupt activities involved the Iranian intelligence and violation of sanctions that were in place.

Goudy is getting shrill. I hate that asshole.

Exactly. And once you establish Cohen authorized it, the question arises: where did he get the authority to do that?

The Democrats have to present more solid questioners after Mr. Schiff. The Republicans, thusfar, are a gift to the Russians.

Explain something to me. Doesn’t re-authorization happen via Congress? What is the actual risk of not re-authorizing??
