Discussion: Comeuppance: Attacking Obamacare Backfires And GOP Has No Alternative

This is what happens when you turn away from fact based reality driven political decisions and run your entire party on feel good sound bites.
Eventually facts win and you come out looking stupid.
The Republican party turned on the Huntsman’s and the Powell’s and went all in on the Sarah Palin Louis Ghomert freak show 'cause they were selling more tickets. Problem is people eventually have to leave the freak show and go back to real life where this party now has nothing to offer.

The GOP has the same problem ALL the time: They’d rather be bomb-throwing anarchists than do anything constructive. Why?

Because the status quo makes rich people richer. And rich people know that it doesn’t take much of their money to enrage enough people (who prefer the thrill of breaking stuff to the work of making the world a better place) to stifle progress and keep the “enrich the rich” system in place.

Thing is, the Palins and the Gohmerts of the party accomplished their mission. The “establishment” has only kept its grip on things by out-looning the loons. It will not surprise me in the least that, when presidential primaries roll around for the GOP next year, every single one of them will be solidly for “repeal,” but totally vague on what they’d do instead. Also known at the Romney Strategy. And we all remember how well that worked for Willard…

It haven’t fizzles out, it’s on the back burner…

Even when all the TeaParty is on either Medicare or ObamaCare they will still be against both.

Looks like they are going to try to impeach the President over Benghazi when most people think it is a rock group. So Gadaffi kills our ambassador and the White House making sure he was killed for it just wasn’t enough?

This irrational strategy works for me because nobody cares and it illustrates just how stupid the GOP is about the economy. Everyone is asking why the Job Creators haven’t done their job and are still asking for more tax breaks.

The problem for Republicans is that the basic structure of Obamacare is quite literally the most conservative way you could solve the major problems of our old healthcare system (preexisting conditions, annual and lifetime maximums, millions of uninsured using the ER and passing the costs off to everyone else. . .) . Which is why the Heritage Foundation invented it and Mitt Romney passed it.

REPUBLICAN BENGHAZI CIRCUS

And where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don’t bother - the RighTeas are here!

Personally, I just love to impress upon the Rightie Contards and assorted GOPig Baggerloons that Barack Hussein Obama will be the President of the United States until 11.59pm, JANUARY 20, 2017. I love to see the reality of that sink in and watch em’ shake with their ranting impotence and anger. Shadenfreude? Yup! I do love it.

Once it was passed, the only hope they had was defeating Obama in 2012… and they lost. The day is coming where they start claiming credit for the original ideas behind the law, and object to it being called “Obamacare”.

Republicans are so negative, they won’t even support their own policies. They are just contrary to be contrary.

All the while they are giving the rich more and more concessions to create jobs overseas and ignoring the middle class which is becoming angrier by the day with how their standard of living is slipping.

Your right about that. But it won’t happen until the Tea Party crackpots are thrown out of office. From the looks of it, the billionaires are turning on each other and have decided the Koch Brothers’ experiment was a dismal failure just like Bush/Cheney.

And then a woman will be president.

It must be hard for the Neocons, Reaganites and Dixiecrats to deal with the new reality of where this country is going… without them. No wonder they have resorted to trying to buy elections and the courts as their last resort.

Most of the conservative old men will be dying off soon and have these new demographics to deal with plus the Watergate/Nixon embarrassment, 911, Iraq, the September 2008 worldwide banking meltdown and Bush 2nd Great Depression to shoulder to the grave.

No wonder they have turned to Jesus…who doesn’t seem to be too impressed with them either.

One by one they will adopt state ACA exchanges when it become clear that they are working in OH, MI and other purple states. The GOP will say they are adopting the model used by Republican governors not Obama. They are already laying the groundwork for it. The TeaParty be damned.

Incapable of repealing and replacing the highly successful and popular “Obamacare”, the RighTeas will pass a law saying:

From this time forward:

  1. It’s illegal to say “Obamacare”, anyone who does so shall suffer severe punishments; repeated references to the non-existent “Obamacare” shall be a capital offense.

  2. All references to “Obamacare” shall by expunged from all documents and video records.

  3. Henceforth the PPACA must be called “Republicare”.

Their reliance on the ineffective Job Creators are going to be the GOP’s downfall. The young and forced to early retire Baby Boomers are going to hold their feet to that fire. The fact that KY, of all places, has embraced the ACA tells you how hard life has become for the former middle class and outsourced millions.

“the Republican’s alternative plan to prevent embassy attacks in the future”

is to make further Republicuts in all embassy protection budgets

But now there are fewer and fewer rich people and it’s getting harder for even the Wall Street gamblers to entire those ranks. The billionaires are using computers and laying off hedge fund frauds.

The Top 1% might be able to keep the sheep at bay by fooling them with all kinds of diversions. But the wolves aren’t going to be starved. When they flip Democratic to survive, the GOP is in for something that looks like the new Godzilla.

The GOP is heavily invested in the politics of investigating phony “scandals” that they’ve drummed up to cover the fact that they have not one single competent policy idea to run on in November.

So they’ll gin up as much faux outrage as possible to hide their utter lack of ability at governance.

Benghazi will do for a start—but they’ll be manufacturing other fake scandals, too, just as soon as they can dream them up.

Well, DUH!! Who could have seen this coming? EVERYBODY with half a brain. This IS the republican plan!! RomneyCare writ large.

President Obama is right; the GOP will soon stop referring to it as Obamacare.
