This was a pretty transparent Trolling by Oliver and Trump couldn’t pass it up. The guy isn’t too bright, and is led by his ego, seems like Oliver could own him for as long as he wanted to.

Let me stipulate for a moment that right-wing nutjobs read TPM and browse the comments sections. When you guys see how easily a guy like John Oliver can wind up Trump and make him bark like a seal; do you think Vladimir Putin doesn’t notice this? Or Xi Jinping? Do you look forward to four years of President Trump getting obviously trolled into doing things that are bad for the US?

Too funny for words. Reminds me of the flap when the president of Equador took the Oliver bait and made a fool of himself. This from Mediaite:

"Oliver spent last Sunday mocking President Rafael Correa for spending an inordinate amount of time on Twitter and YouTube calling out individual constituents who mocked him. In return, Correa spent an inordinate amount of time mocking the “oxymoron” Oliver. “He’s right,” Oliver admitted. “‘British comedian’ is an oxymoron. All Putin has to tweet is “Have you seen President Trump’s hair? He must be carrying a Russian bear on his head,” and Trump will surely do something very stupid… like order all polar bears removed from the endangered species list.

I heckled Yakov Smirnoff one night (gently) when he had trouble getting the crowd going. I nudged him toward telling a Polish joke. He responded with a good one.

But Oliver NEVER has anyone on his show to interview. That isn’t its format. At best, he might include a small clip of an interview, as part of a bigger piece. But by and large, Oliver goes after the “bigger piece”, not the day to day in’s and outs.

The fact that Trump has to make up stories,and tell lies about everyone he has run-ins with like an angry eleven year who has had his feeling hurt is a pretty serious character flaw don’t you think. Is this how he is going to handle Putin. I am constantly amazed people take him serious
