Simply wrong. This country on guns has lost its frickinâ mind.
We shot our way into this mess, and weâre damn sure gonna shoot our way out of it.
Canât see anyway this could go wrongâŚwtf.
Well now we know where the next mass shooting involving kids is probably gonna be. I donât care what anyone says! Guns and children are a bad mix!
This will not end well. Kids and guns. WTF are they âthinkingâ???
OK, so they get armed, get trained, and carry the weapons to schools.
Then they lock them in their cars.
Either:
- The weapons will deter or stop a mass shooter because the security folks have them
or - The mass shooter will arrive at the school, shoot the security folks first because the weapons are in the car and then proceed with the plans
I donât support guns in schools. But itâs just crazy to have a guns-in-schools plan which doesnât have the guns in the schools.
The whole thing seems nuts. Besides, take Columbine. It was/is, like all high schools, large, How many gun-carrying security folks (with their guns in the cars) will it take to protect the whole school? With the guns in the cars?
What could possibly go wrong?
âWe want to make sure they have the same tools as law enforcement,â Payne said.
More likely they want to make sure they have the same tools as the local lunatic fringe, child custody combatants, property tax combatants and any of the other illogical but very heavily armed militia.
Just south of Littleton, by the way.
âDouglas County, Colorado, will begin arming school security guards with semiautomatic riflesâŚ.â
Rightwing rag National Review crows of the district:
âAn all-Republican school board has created the nationâs first suburban school-voucher program, introduced market-based pay, allowed its teachersâ union contract to expireâŚReagan secretary of education William Bennett has opined that Douglas County is âtrying to do all the good reforms at onceââŚ.â
Sorry kids, you now belong to âThe Invisible Handâ.
And itâs heavily armed.
âIâll shoot your eye out, kid.â
âWe want to make sure they have the same tools as law enforcement,â
We want to make sure they have the same TOYS as law enforcement,
FIFY
âYou will take this standardized test, mister!â
Since they havenât completely destroyed public schools with lack of funding, charter schools, and with vilifying teachersâŚseems theyâve found another way.
Will the NRA permit these security guards with semiautomatic weapons to be subject to a full background check? Why do I think the NRA mafia will object to that ⌠2nd Amendment! ⌠liburty!! ⌠gunzzzzzzzzz!!
Edit because I canât type worth a darn.
Whatâs the easiest way to get a gun in a Colorado school? Take the guardâs gun away from him.
Actually, the guns are going to be in the cars, where they can be readily accessed in case there is a mass shooting in the parking lot, that the security guard is present for.
Old adviceâWhen you find yourself in a hole, stop shooting.
Clearly one can see how that will be amazingly helpful. Hopefully Barney Fife will remember where he put his keys when the time comes. And likely the first responders will arrive just to seen him pulling a rifle out of his car. Hopefully theyâll pay attention to his uniform before they shoot him. Oh, and the shooters likely wonât find and kill him first.
The amount of money it will now take to insure these rambo wannabes would likely pay for school lunches or textbooks for needy children. Thank god they have their priorities in place. It would make no sense to use that money to fund onsite police officers or anything if they are really that concernedâŚ
