Discussion: Collins Wants Vote To End Shutdown: 'Bring The House-Passed Bills To The Senate Floor'

Collins added Sunday: “To be fair to Sen. McConnell, the fact is that unless Chuck Schumer and Speaker Pelosi agree, and the President agrees to sign a bill, we can pass bills but they won’t become law. So that’s why I understand the point that Sen. McConnell is making about these important negotiations that are, in fact, ongoing.”

No, you duplicitious jackass, that bill that passed the Senate, and has now passed the Democratic Congress, passed with 100 votes which is far more than enough to override a veto. Stop lying. All McConnell needs to do is bring it to the floor. That’s it.

I would love this if it was anybody but Susan Collins. Sure, Susan, we can trust you to walk your talk. [eyeroll]

So she has decided to run for re-election, after all.

you have to admit that Collins has the knack for stepping in at just the right time
Sounds like a hero, accomplishes nothing and then hope she gets some credit for a future commercial.
plus get some tv time and hope McConnell sweeps her off her feet before he uses her for his own advantages.
simply, a repeat with a different subject.

Why won’t this gawdawful woman just slither off or shut her pinhole?

Her double-dealing is so vile and apparent, one must marvel at her Maine voters, and their preference to remain in a catatonic-imbecilic state of denial.

He won’t do this until his own caucus puts the heat lamp on him. The longer this plays out the more pressure the twenty two GOP Senators, mostly in red states, up for re-election in 2020 will feel to vote and possibly override a veto.

Lamar Alexander (R-Tennessee)
Shelley Moore Capito (R-West Virginia)
Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana)
Susan Collins (R-Maine)
John Cornyn (R-Texas)
Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas)
Steve Daines (R-Montana)
Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming)
Joni Ernst (R-Iowa)
Cory Gardner (R-Colorado)
Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina)
Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Mississippi) – A full six-year term election will be held in 2020.
James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma)
Jon Kyl (R-Arizona) – It is expected that there will be an open special election in 2020 for the seat because Kyl has said he will not run in 2020. A full six-year term election will take place in 2022.
Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky)
David Perdue (R-GA)
Jim Risch (R-Idaho)
Pat Roberts (R-Kansas)
Mike Rounds (R-South Dakota)
Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska)
Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska)
Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina)

Of all the Republicans senators running for re-election in 2020, after McConnell, I would love to see her lose. I hope she has a very difficult time the next two years desperately pretending she’s not a right wing radical.

Whoa, when was voting to override a veto discarded? :eyes:

“…Collins told NBC News’ Chuck Todd…”

A preening phony who voted for Kavanaugh.

Treated as an honest player.

By another preening phony.

(Doesn’t she have some sexual-assault victims to smear somewhere?)

Well, it seems to me that if this is what she wants, why is she talking to Chuckles the Toad? Perhaps her laryngeal vibrational energies would be best expended on, I don’t know, McConnell, maybe.

True, but that’s really what’s giving Mitch and Republicans in the Senate the vapors. The idea of being in the position of having to override a Trump veto must be keeping Mitch awake at night. They could do it, but they never will – and they don’t want to draw anyone’s attention to the fact that the Senate has that ability and enough votes to succeed at it.

That’s right Sen Collins!

Challenge your leadership into doing what is RIGHT FOR THE COUNTRY.

It’s hard to manage a Country when their form of government is artificially SHUTDOWN for an unrealistic RANSOM!

Demand the turtle :turtle: man act swiftly and quickly. Trump has shot his own chances to be re-elected in 2020. It’s OVER!
