Bingo. Roberts’ only problems with Kavanaugh will be because Roberts’ goal is to do the work of the Federalist Society as stealthily as possible. E.g., not “repealing Roe v. Wade” because it’s “settled law” but just doing away with its meaning in thousands of little ways. At a minimum, if he keeps his head down and just keeps voting with the majority, Kavanaugh is going to be like Thomas: an asterisk to the left on every Federalist Society Seal of Approval decision. It will help us explain the decisions, but do nothing to change our fate.
Don’t get me wrong - I’d love to see it. I’d love to see Judge Rapey hounded to the end of his days until he erupts in cross-eyed, spittle-flecked drunken rants, screaming conspiracy theories and punching imaginary ghosts.
At this point, however, he will smugly take his place among the real justices, never recuse himself from any conflict and continue to degrade our nation’s justice system until it’s unrecognizable.
I hope you do feel better tomorrow - there is nothing we can do except try to find the positives where they exist in this. All of our pain is better off galvanized into action to defeat these monstrous assholes.

When you see Susan Sarandon, Nina Turner, Jill Stein and their likes, please thank them for giving us Gorsuch, Bret Kavanaugh and for destroying Obamacare.

They allowed their intra-party differences with Hillary Clinton to cost us all these, and will possibly result in the overturn of Roe v Wade, the abortion rights supreme court case.
Some news you could use. None of these women are to blame, but they’re convenient and help us forget the 57% turnout and the 53% of white women who voted for the moron.
Was Hillary Clinton, under FBI investigation or not, a less bad choice than Trump? If you agree with that proposition, then you have no excuse for not voting for her, and neither does anybody else who thought she was a less bad choice than Trump. If you thought Hillary was a worse choice than Trump, then you own this, too, and need to accept that.
We are not picking the most popular kid for senior class president. One of the two candidates on offer will become president. Pick one–and just not voting amounts to letting everybody else pick one for you–in which case you best hope you like the one they pick.
Not that constitutional amendments are likely anymore, except after the civil war, but here are two possible ones:
Limit all presidential appointed terms to not more than, say, 18 or 24 years. It seems pretty obvious that a lifetime appointment in the 18th century had a much different meaning than one in the 21st century.
All supreme court appointments should require the same confirmation vote as an impeachment conviction: 2/3 of the Senate. If you really want the court to consist of “balls and strikes” jurists, then pick people that are broadly acceptable not narrowly loved or hated.
If it appeals to your prurient interests, Fox has commentators creaming at the moment over the end of homosexuality, gun control, abortion, political correctness and libtards. Is it too much to hope for the reinstatement of slavery? Who knows, but welcome to Gilead, ladies.
Women can show how they struggle against oppression, encouraging and inspiring women for decades and decades.
Yes, their rights may be curtailed, but the federal government will be looking over their pregnancy to ensure every fetus is given the full consideration of the righteous Republican Senate.
You don’t dismiss the judgement of Justice Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court, do you? Of course, Justice Roberts still leads it. Technically.
