All this does is expose him for what he is
COWARD
He’s 80 years old
What is he trying to preserve?
If it’s his reputation, that ship sailed
Oh sure, when Colin Powell says it…
Condi replied, "What’s BENGHAZI?!!!
She likie the wine though and with wine comes many oddities, so who knows?
Even before he was SECSTATE, Powell was tagged as the honest one in the Iraq war boy-band. But my dad - a retired Navy guy - always liked to remind folks that Powell had enriched himself feeding at the Republican trough for many years. Lucrative appearances & speaking fees.
He will never risk that to do what is right.
The Ben Ghazi believers are over the hill and far away, around the bend, too far gone to get back.
Pretty much, unless HO tweets it, they won’t believe it and probably not even then because it feels too good and fits their craze all too well.
And where are Powell’s emails about his emails, notice there is no mention of his personal server use and what BS that whole spin off of Ben Ghazi is also too.
When the going gets tough, the cowards deceive, evade, waffle and prevaricate.
AKA, DEWP.
Ya know, the beleaguered SOS could have used some public support from her predecessors during the witch hunt. Just sayin’. Thanks, Colin and Condi.
Agreed. I suspect it’s often not realized just how political the job of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs actually is, and that historically a tell-it-like-it-is zero-bullshit type of general or admiral is rarely selected.
this email release by the Russians demonstrates his private email WAS hacked, repeatedly by foreign powers intelligence services.
Powell: "Basic fault falls on a courageous ambassador who thoughts Libyans now love me and I am ok in this very vulnerable place.
A big part of the problem discussing Benghazi is that no one wants to criticize Ambassador Chris Stevens. “Of the dead, only the good shall be said”.
Powell characterizes Stevens as “courageous” and then mocks him for foolishly believing “Libyans now love me and I am ok in this very vulnerable place”. “Courageous” is not the right word - “foolhardy” is.
The reality is that Chris Stevens was a CIA cowboy who had served as liaison to the Libyan rebels during the uprising against Khaddafi. In this role he provided them with weapons, intelligence and supplies. He took the foolhardy risk of going to Benghazi - a lawless place run by militias- because he thought his wartime mojo would protect him. As Powell noted - it didn’t.
Right, is Powell learning, apparently not.
do you think Chaffets and the republicons give a dam how much it cost us …as long as it has the desired effect to instill in the American people Hillary is only to blame for this and is a criminal and cant be trusted …when it’s them that holds that moniker
…the BenGhaziers will glom onto the 'StupidWitch" part of the email
You can actually go farther back. Those that are old enough or know their history, remember that then Maj. Powell was a big part of the “investigation” (whitewash) of the My Lai massacre in Vietnam. A “company” man, to this day.
Yes Colin Powell is a bit of a coward when it comes to rocking the boat - I can see it given who and what he is - one of the first African AMericans to attain his level of power. Yes he was part of the cover up for My Lai.
But a lot of people respect the man still and there is much about him to admire and respect and people do and tis is a good thing that he said what he said and it was leaked.
Dear Colon:
Fuck You, War Criminal!
While I’m at it, Fuck War Criminal Cuntaleeza and your worthless piece-of-shit son Michael, too!
Sincerely, your pal Tio
Ya. Day late, dollar short.
Yes. I really blame him for the Iraq War. He was the only combat veteran in the cabinet, had served in the Vietnam fiasco and thus created the Powell Doctrine of having an objective and going after it with overwhelming force. This is in part why Desert Storm was a 15-minute war. He utterly disgraced himself by going along with the idiots in Shrubs first cabinet and his appalling performance at the UN. He could have put a stop to it all and if he couldn’t, he should have had the guts to resign.
So, Sec. Powell, your defense is that you told Sec. Clinton to use her private e-mail, but never advised the dreaded, scary-sounding, private server? IOW, you think that your cloud-based yahoo account was more secure? Remind me, whose email just got hacked, yours or Clinton’s?
By the way, all you technologically illiterate reporters (appears to be nearly all of them, present website excluded), here’s a simple test for you: anyone who couldn’t recognize a server if they tripped over one is disqualified from ever using those verbal scare quotes you seem to like to associate with the phrase “private server.” You sound like last-century backwoods yokels who just got their first look at a “horseless carriage.”
