Discussion: Cohn: White House 'Must Do Better' In Condemning White Nationalists

They really “Must do better” about pretty much everything…

Of course I agree, but there is something really wrong about White House officials giving opinions outside of their domain. I see it all the time from the Trump White House.
What Cohn says is what Sessions should be laying out in a major address.
From Cohn, this seems like a throwaway from the WH.

To which Donald tactfully replied:
“I know why you’re not going to support me. You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money …Look, I’m a negotiator like you folks, we’re negotiators.”

Donald Trump actually said this in a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition on December 3, 2015, along with a few other delightful observations.
I know I don’t need to prove this is a fact to the regulars here, but for the trolls, here’s some proof, assholes:

And people wonder why I don’t have any respect for any of the Jews working in the Trump administration. Or Christians, either, for that matter. Or fucking human beings.

Republican translation: If you are going to hate on the darkies and the people who killed Our Lord, don’t say it out loud.

“As a Jewish American, I will not allow neo-Nazis ranting ‘Jews will not replace us’ to cause this Jew to leave his job,” he added.

What if your boss is saying it, either directly, or by inference?

A person raised by a Klansman is bound to pick up race hatred and consider it a family value and historical heritage. Throw in Mein Kampf for bedside reading and there is no way that person is going to condemn a bunch of wanna be Nazis. He is not even trying to keep his base so much as expressing his personal belief.

The oddly silent GOP however is trying very hard to hold on to their base here.

But can they? That seems doubtful…

Is it some kind of written rule that men without balls stand by and witness wrong doing,do NOTHING TO ACTUALLY ADDRESS IT and then proceed to tell us it is wrong and we must do something…then proceed as though nothing has happened.is there just ONE OF THESE PEOPLE that will go beyond the symbolic gesture and take action?

#“I have come under enormous pressure,”
on many sides. On many sides.
Seriously, did you sit in on a Chautauqua from Donnie on straw man construction?
All the people you “sincerely” think count, that is your fellow 1%ers, are terrified at the prospect that you’d quit.
Pull the other one. It’s got bells.

Cohn’s complicit. He would do much more “on behalf of the American people” to resign in protest in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s racist comments and denounce them forthrightly than to submit to Trump’s whim and defend a one-page tax plan. Everyone working for this administration is hiding behind patriotism and duty to hold on to their jobs, endangering the country by prolonging the charade.

You, Dommy, have such a tactful way of laying it out…I whole heartedly agree.

Shorter Cohn: I will have my entitled tax cuts at any cost.

Gary Cohn should have told Preshitident Anusmouth-Putindickholster that he would be loyal to the white christian supremacist, Russian traitor Preshitident and the White House infested with his treasonous spawn. This is unfair to the Preshitident, terribly unfair. Cuck Kushner and the Trump-family owned tinpot general Johnny Kelly is now overseeing all bigotry in the administration are disappointed.

I think Mr Cohn’s days are numbered. One does not criticize THE BOSS.
Welp, that’s one Cabinet secretary who is against trump (25th amendment).

“Do better, but will they”

What ain"t “can’t” is “won’t”.

It doesn’t count if you don’t mean it. This administration can’t fake out anyone any longer. We have seen who Donald J. Trump is and he doesn’t mean any of the words you try to put in his mouth.

I am really sick of these rich guys working for Trump who could quit in a heartbeat if they are so offended by his words and actions but stay with him anyway. They’re not upset at his deeds; they are upset his toxic ooze might rub off on them. Cohn’s not like an average American worker who can’t quit their job just because their boss is an asshole, since they wouldn’t be able to feed their kids and pay their rent. These pricks have so much cash they don’t even HAVE to work!
And thanks for the shoutout! Right back at you!
