So CNN admits it passed on Kellyanne Clownway’s appearance on STFU, er, SOTU. When will CNN address this:
According to the New York Times, CNN executives have “serious questions” about Conway’s credibility, as she has consistently pushed what she herself has called “alternative facts,” such as the nonexistent “Bowling Green massacre” that was roundly mocked last week.
The Times notes that media critics such as New York University professor Jay Rosen have called on networks to bar Conway from their shows due to her repeated use of falsehoods, so it’s possible CNN could be just the first network to decline offers to have Conway on their shows.
Like gas, Kellyanne was passed…
Drop them all, hem them in. No more propaganda, no more toxic bullshit.
Expose all Trump sources to “extreme vetting.”
Witch: Alt-Media is talking Alt-Alt-Facts.
One helluva job, KAC, now I find myself siding with goddamn CNN and goddamn Mika!
I hope the networks have their exchanges with the KAC side recorded and will release them.
KAC is a spiny kidney stone the whole sane part of the country would like to pass. Quickly and quietly…
CNN has integrity? Since when? This is a joke and a ruse.
Where’s the Russia story? Where’s the tax story? Nowhere.
They hired Corey Lewandowski right after he assaulted that girl in FL and they allowed him to promote birtherism on the panel repeatedly.
SNL depicted the network in a cage wearing Depends. Sometimes the truth hurts.
Okay, CNN next on our list of who we would like to see you “pass on” is Spiceboy, Pence, Donnie, Bannon, Prius, Ryan, McConnel, Sessions, DeVos, etc, etc.
This. IS. FABULOUS! Conway spent the entire weekend being dragged through streets of the internet by her hair. If she weren’t a raging, evil asshole, I might actually feel sorry for her for the beating she took. But she is and I’m not. I hope this is the media signaling to the WH that it’ll blackball anyone who comes on TV and repeatedly lies. IMO, this is possibly a very big win.
I agree with the sentiment, but this will never happen, unfortunately. One thing I learned about how CNN and others lied this country into the Iraq War is that access is the most important thing of all. Cheney and Bush used ostracism and access to reward and punish members of the press. They care more about being asked to the table then the do about the country.
I want to see them all adopt the Olbermann Plan, i.e. let them appear but only with a 7-second delay so that the tape can be stopped every time they lie, allowing fact-checking in real-time.
Additionally, I would like to see the latest correction scroll on the chyron until the tape is again stopped. Sure, the correction would only scroll for a few seconds but the hilarity of it all would be priceless.
And as I’ve said before, it’d be one hell of a way to fill a 24-hour news cycle; a typical 10-minute interview would no doubt be stretched to a full hour.
Hell, it could even result in some serious behavior modification. But I doubt it. They’d just claim the media, Fox excepted, was being “mean.”
I’m assuming her pathological lying is the very reason they declined to allow her to appear. In any event, this is a very good thing, and I’m not sure it really matters what prompted the decision. I’m just glad it’s happening.
K. Conway has nothing to offer, no references necessary at this date.
Kudos to CNN.
There was some media chatter about how to deal with KAC a few weeks ago or so – they rightly saw a big problem in her. And frankly, I do believe this is THE answer – the simplest yet the most effective answer.
If she wore underpants, they’d be on fire.
KAC is upset because the green rooms at the Christian Broadcasting Network and InfoWars are terrible. No lox for the bagels, no free copies of the WSJ, no hair and make-up people for touch-ups…a disaster!
Trump and his band of helper liars laid the groundwork for this back when he did that stunt at the hotel, trying to turn a supposed press conference into a no-questions free publicity event. Essentially once the assembled pool realized what was happening, they had their editors do a conference call and a mass decision was taken to boycott the tour of the hotel. Once people learn to say “enough” it can become a habit. I don’t know what exactly precipitated this decision but I know what prompted it: repeated brutal trashings from everyone in the administration. CNN execs obviously had a series of meetings on what to do about it and this is what they decided. Every serious media critic I read has been telling them for months and months that you don’t need access, and in fact the desire to have access makes you pull your punches. Message received. Blood in the water now.
How can there be questions or issues with Kellyanne Conwoman’s credibility? She has none! None whatsoever!
