Thought this was a very good, back to basics speech along the lines of what she started with her speech in San Diego before the CA primary. She hit Trump very hard and kept the focus on the mortal danger he represents to this country, while weaving in the issues we face and how we can address them head on and successfully. She’ll finish out the week strong with this appearance and the one with Kaine tomorrow.

We need a law that makes it illegal for anyone to refer to the modern Republican Party as “the party of Lincoln.”
The Republican Party has nothing to do with Lincoln. It’s a completely different party. This party would proudly have slaves if they thought they could get away with it.
Trump’s opponents understandably want to assert it is Trump that represents what has gone wrong with the GOP. It’s Trump that’s steered it to where it is. It would be electoral madness for Clinton to speak the truth, that it is the citizens enamored with Trump, those committed to voting for him, that have come to be today’s GOP. The party of Lincoln has become the people supporting Trump and Trump’s ideas and policies, his bigotries and anti-intellectualism, his misogyny and xenophobia. Truly we have met the enemy and he is us.
The “party of Lincoln” was at that time (1860) was the party of the progressives and the democrats were the conservatives. These days that is conveniently ignored.
