Inspiring and awesome. A pro to the very end: I expect nothing less.

Goddamn, how I my heart is broken for her. But, we must fight in order to get the democracy we want back. What is they say about eternal vigilance?

You forgot to stamp your little feet. It only works when you stamp your little feet.

too bad the Dems aren’t petty and vindictive as to declare to obstruct everything Trump does from day one.

“Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power and we don’t just respect that, we cherish it,”

Sure. But Trump doesn’t. He said he wouldn’t accept the election results unless he won, he spread fear about a rigged system, threatened to jail his opponent, and called for the election to be cancelled and given to him.

What will happen in four years when someone runs against him?

BTW from Trump’s speech:

Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.

Really? You spent the last 6 months promising those supporters you’d jail her, that she was corrupt, that she broke the law, that you’d appoint a special prosecutor. Go fuck yourself Mr. President Elect.

Good speech, very moving, quite powerful. Thank you, Hillary Clinton, for your dedication and service to our nation and greater society.

That said, I am not as optimistic as Mrs. Clinton … wish I were, though. I fear that the religious right will really run amok now. I also fear those of us who depend on the social safety net are about to know some real fear for our well-being. What is going to happen to the many hundreds of thousands and millions of people who rely on the provisions of the ACA that stipulate coverage for all, regardless of pre-exiting condition?

ETA: I also fear–big time–that once the courts are stacked, women will lose the right to choose, many states will re-criminalize being gay and marriage equality … not to mention many other civil rights the right as had their eyes on for a long time.

Drump does NOT have a mandate. Look at the totality of the popular vote.

They should do exactly that…it works. Again though, Dems are effete pussies more interested in etiquette.

with mike pence (dick cheney jr.), a trump presidency will be Bush 2.0.

and we all know how disastrous that was.

Oh, I know – but Congress will be solid Republican. Our only hope is to appeal to whatever “sane” Republicans might still be cowering in the corners.

What was that about a rigged election and a Second Amendment solution?

How exactly would they do that? GOP has majorities in both houses of Congress.

that’s why i said “too bad” :frowning:

“accept” my ass. Its over AND we got rid of you at the same time. Now if we cant get through the next 4 years without too much damage we can rebuild and unite after the GOP leaves this country in shambles once again…

One thing to think about: not only is Trump losing the popular vote, but he has less votes (about 58.9M) total in winning than either Romney (60.9M) or McCain (59.9M) had in losing.

The story isn’t that his side showed up. The story is that our side didn’t (or in many cases were deliberately excluded/suppressed)
