Discussion: Clinton On Trump’s Mexico Trip: You Still Plan On Deporting Millions?

“They take jobs from those hard working African Americans and Hispanics–you know the ones in the menial jobs that no one wants”.

Racist bastard.

Though it’d be really tough to back out now, I half expect Trump to either not meet with the Mexican President or to pull out of his Arizona speech later today. I will be surprised if he both meets with Mexican President Nieto and gives his immigration speech today.

The more you read about Pena Nieto, the more it sounds like two guys with agendas that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, but rather who are both posturing to try to win political brownie points.

That’s exactly what I expect to happen, though I have a feeling Nieto is now thinking about laying a trap for Trump. Nieto gets to make a fool of the American Tough Guy Blowhard, and say to his face that “I’m not paying for your dumbass wall” and it gets play all over Mexican TV and he cruises to reelection regardless of who wins the US Election because “Nieto can Stand Up to the Gringos”…

Basically, Trump is an easily manipulated stooge, who other world leaders are going to use and abuse and he’ll sit there with that doofus smirk on his face thinking he’s the "smarterest, besterest, most tougherest " guy in the room.

“The real estate mogul kicked off his campaign in June 2015 with a speech decrying Mexicans as ‘criminals’.”

That’s not fair! Mr. Trump didn’t say that all Mexicans are criminals. Just the ones coming to the United States.
See how enlightened he is?

Exactly – it’s all about posturing. I am certain Nieto is going to flay him for political gain. Donnie thinks he owns “nasty” and he’ll be able to buffalo Nieto. I think Donnie may get a comeuppance, Of course, by the time he’s back, he’ll have spun it around to “great guy, really loves me”…but everyone else will see it for what it is.

President Nieto should thank El Rumpo for thoughtfully translating the “Made in China” labels into Spanish on his menswear products. Then give a speech about Chinese child labor taking jobs away from hard working Mexicans.

Hey, just a thought… Does Donnie have any real estate in Mexico that may be in arrears? Any pending lawsuits?? Any reason for Mexican border control to slap handcuffs on him when he steps off the plane??

(Hey, a girl can dream…)

Well, there is still that ongoing Baja project lawsuit, isn’t there? He and Ivanka are named defendants.

I caught that.

I guess it’s part of his new outreach strategy - keeping the undesirables at the level they belong and out of the board rooms of America.

Ooooooooooooh! Wouldn’t that be too good to be true?

I don’t know how many fascists and white supremacists Trump expects to find to give him support in Mexico. I expect him to be greeted with jeers rather than cheers. Mexico is not Serbia. I expect that, rather than flowers being thrown, his motorcade from the airport will be the recipient of tomatoes and rotten eggs. Someone may smash a piñata in his honor.

Trip to Mexico could very well be a turning point in the Trump Campaign. He has shown the ability to grab half a chance and move ahead of Hillary. Statesmanship on display when it was needed. And if he handles this meet and the scheduled policy speech well, you could find DT galloping ahead!

My guess is that Trump will come back and say how horrible it was in Mexico, and how badly he was treated, as motivation for his wall. Whatever gives him a better spin, though it damages the relationship and insults a whole country, he will say. EPN should meet him in the bar of a two-star hotel near the airport, in Neza somewhere. Trump would hate it and then go visibly crazy back in Phoenix. But I worry that the Mexicans (if the Foreign Ministry gets involved) will still want to take him to Camino Real or some other five-star joint, or to the presidential residence, just to be hospitable. That would be a mistake–he’ll insult them anyway when he gets home. Also, don’t forget that the Mexico City govt hired Giuliani Partners back in 2005 or so to work on crime there. I don’t think he did much. But at least he knows where it is.

No need to create a new account just to make a snarky, sarcastic prediction. We have plenty of regulars who can do it better

In an already bizarre campaign, this has got to be as strange as it gets. I got a feeling things are not going to transpire as anyone might think. Trump is likely to cancel this hastily scheduled meeting when he realizes how badly it could go. Then again we’re talking about tRump. So get your popcorn before it’s gone. It may have to be rationed in the coming weeks.

Well… I had to make an account to comment! I found this story interesting. This is an opportunity for Trump to move ahead if he could handle it well.
