Discussion: Clinton Declines To Say Whether As Prez She'd Ask Comey To Step Down

Jim Kellstrom sounds resign-worthy…

A well measured response, Madame President.

Don’t throw any red meat into the deplorable’s kennel.

Because she’s not a hothead who would fire someone immediately for criticizing a la her opponent?

And here I thought she was going to lead the audience in a chant of “Lock Him Up.”

Firing Comey is the first thing that Obama should do after the election. He picked him and then he allowed General Lynch and Comey to spiral out of control. He needs to fix it and he’s in the best position to do so.

Clinton firing Comey just adds fuel that she is rigging the game.

She may not have to fire him

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — President Obama threw the power of the White House behind Hillary Clinton on Wednesday. He faulted how the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, handled new emails related to the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s private server, and then shouted out to college students here in a pivotal battleground state that it was crucial that they vote because the “fate of the world is teetering.”

Mr. Obama’s comments about Mr. Comey, broadcast early in the day as recent polls showed a tightening race, were striking for a president who has insisted he does not comment on F.B.I. investigations. But Mr. Obama appeared to be doing exactly that in implicitly criticizing Mr. Comey’s decision to send a vague letter last week to Congress — and by extension, the public — informing lawmakers about a discovery of new emails related to Mrs. Clinton’s use of a private server as secretary of state.

Must be a hot topic on Google search as it came right up long before I finished typing the question.

Were Trump in Hillary’s position, he’d say that he’d fire him and then sue him.

I’m not sure about that. It might be better to have the Office of Special Counsel do a complete and thorough investigation in response to the Hatch Act complaints that have been filed. They would have to follow the evidence wherever it led, for as long as it took. They might even have to investigate the possibility of other crimes.

Can he fire him? I thought the FBI director was immune to such things.

EDIT: Apparently, the President may do so. I’d wait until November 9 for the sake of appearances.

All he needs to do is offer his resignation immediately to the President. That would take care of him. He has inserted himself into the election in an effort to CYA.

I don’t see the difference.

Exactly
Don’t pull a trump.
I admire that they have exercised restraint in responding to the Comey letter letting the surrogates MSM and strangely enough Republicans respond for them.
If it was reversed Trump and his crowds would be all LOCK HIM UP!

Clinton: Why will I do anything? I love FBI controlled by RWNJs working with Putin and FOX. Thanks Obama.

Those are the rules for us
We are not Republicans, who have no rules

Off topic but I love that Hillary shared Conan’s interview of Louis CK where Louis endorsed Hillary with a clever (hilarious depending on your tastes) bit:

edit to add TeamCoco link that works.

She should’ve mentioned the FBI director has a ten year appointment. Comey is the one with “a personnel issue.” I think Comey may be giving these rogue agents enough rope to hang themselves. He needs to clean up his department.

It’s clear there needs to be a housecleaning at the FBI. From Josh’s posts it seems like it’s not as much Comey but some of the chief deputies. Comey should be forced to fire them for their partisan zeal, then resign for mismanagement.
