Oh good lordā¦please save us from the āaidesāā¦
Meh. This is a way of not just saying ānoā outright, and a pre-emptive āyouāre going negativeā is just a way of going negative. A simple āno thanksā would suffice. Not every diaper has to be a politically loaded.
Higher pitch, or lower pitch?
Iām sure that Hillary is not concerned about debating Bernie. But I am sure that they are concerned that Bernie is poisoning his supporters to the point that they wonāt support Clinton in the general. Sanders is playing with fire here, and speaking for myself, heās losing any good feelings Iāve had for him. Heās got to be bigger than heās been, IMO.
Heās repeating everything that Hillary did wrong in 2008.
Sanders has been ruffling my feathers with his innuendo, cavalier attitude toward the super delegates, failure to get beyond mantras into specifics of his trade agreement and wall street stands using the āartful smearā to suggest dishonesty where there is none and now threatening to go negative. Certainly he needs to be called on it. Hillary shouldnāt be condescended to in this manner.
Bernie is shocked, just shocked that other candidates are trying to win the election. How dare they not realize that he is on the side of the angels? Even members of the party that he has just joined are not all in his camp. Donāt they know he is smarter than the rest of us?
I want to be saved from so-called āpeople close to the campaign who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss itā as wellā¦
So after Hillary claimed Bernie had āstood with the (fanatical) Minutemenā on the Mexican border, claimed he āvoted against the auto bailout,ā would āend Obamacare,ā and crush the middle-class with ābig tax increases,ā she now has her tender feelings hurt because Bernie (along with the NYTs and many others) asks that she release her transcripts for $750,000 in Goldman Sachs payments for three speeches. Doesnāt she realize ā or doesnāt she care ā how difficult she is making it for those of us who are determined to vote and work for whoever is the Demās nominee?
But Hillary, it is impossible for a tone-deaf person to āchange his toneā.
I agree with the aide completely. Sanders doesnāt get to demand debates (repeating the same thing every time) anytime he wishes because he thinks heās David and Clintonās Goliath.
EDIT TO ADD: If Tad Devine has convinced Sanders to go all negative on Clinton, I say bring it. The ads will never change the minds to the Berniacs but I believe they would backfire on him towards the summer. The longer this goes on and the nastier he gets, he doesnāt win people over. That wasnāt supposed to be his MO; now it is.
I used to be 100% āTeam Have More Debatesā but Iāve completely reversed on that⦠Iām good. Itās a total waste of time, at this point. Theyāre just going to repeat the same things over and over.
itās truly pathetic how the clinton campaign constantly refers to sanders pointing out facts as being ānegativeā⦠and heās so mean to this poor little woman.
ffs, get a grip. if she canāt handle sanders, then she has no business as president.
Now that Sanders realizes that he desperately needs those Supers to win, heās all about getting them to switch sides. Never mind the fact that Hillary has spent decades building the Democratic Party by raising money and campaigning for individual candidates ā she visited over 20 different states campaigning for Democrats in 2014 alone. What candidates has Bernie ever supported besides himself?
Earth to āaide:ā Grow up.
So hard for a āDemocratā to vote for a Democrat. Poor baby.
This is exactly the kind of crap I hatted from the Clinton machine in '08 and this crap is the reason I voted for Obama in the primary, having previously been a Clinton supporter. Really, whinny ass authoritarian idiots!
I was surprised heād actually gone there after trashing the SD system and attacking the āparty establishmentā for months.
But he did vote against funding the auto bailout. He would end Obamacare and replace it with a hugely expensive government run program rather than working to improve Obamacare. And he is proposing large tax increases on the middle class, including raising payroll taxes on the self employed by 8% to pay for his Obamacare replacement.
Well, not everything. For example, Hillary lost big to Obama in Alaska, Washington, and Hawaiāi in '08, whereas in '16, Sanders did pretty well in those places.
