You know, in case the FEC wasn’t already a fucking joke whose enforcement meant basically nothing.
eta - Wrong article, point still stands.

Good move by the AG and much more direct than Schneiderman was on the topic. Cuomo will take this up.
Likely nothing much would have changed from the Obama days, but we would not have this absolutely horrific and very dangerous situation of RUSSIA and Koch&Co openly wrecking our government, our justice department, our laws.
Cuomo and Schniederman seemed to have issues. It might be an easier lift with Underwood.
Dude, we had years of Christie. We’ve suffered enough.
With all these pardons you can count on recipients recidivism. They will all commit additional crimes guaranteed. And when they do either our system of criminal justice will have fallen so far into disrepair that indictments and prosecutions of Trump loyalists will never occur or new pardons will be issued.
All Trump and GOP have to do is win a critical mass of followers and disenfranchise the rest. It is a guarantee they are playing with the numbers as we speak. It should now be obvious that many who support Trump just care about being on the winning team rather than about what is right and good for the country.
He’s going to be a pariah. Nobody wants him.
Has Whiny pardoned John Gotti yet?
It should be easy for him. He’s already pardoned ONE dead guy!
Badda-bing!
And what was done to Feech LaManna? Totally unfair! Pardon him now!
That and what a legal analyst called an “elephant whistle” to tell those scrutinized by Mueller to hold strong and stay silent because pardons are ready.
Whenever he appears for speeches can he just get bombarded with questions like:
“What’s it like being a confessed felon? Is it easy to sleep at night?”
“Did you learn any skills while in the Slammer?”
“If you sold your soul do you have to charge less cause it doens’t come with a conscience?”
“Do you have a sense of shame or are you just making it up as you go along?”
“Do you think you can be buried in consecrated ground or will your coffin burst into flame as it’s lowered into the hole?”
I have LOTS more.
OT but…
trump has begun the trade war with the EU, Mexico, and Canada…see cnn.com. Stocks down 200 points
This is bad bad news. There are no winners in this. Just losers.
Thanks trump, you incompetent carnival barker.
Yes. I really worry about changes based on reactiveness to something Spanky did, but in this case, I’m onboard.
I was just thinking we dodged a bullet since Charles Manson is dead.
Looks like that’s a definite possibility. Assembly’s already Dem. Senate is not, but…
The Assembly is strongly Democrat, but the Senate is 1 vote into the red because one Democrat chooses to caucus with the Republicans.
Yeah… we pretty much hate that asshole.
Good - if it’s enough to get the change passed that’s all that I am concerned about.
Jail house D’Souza already did his time and he admitted guilt. These dopes still don’t understand that a Presidential pardon is an immediate admission of guilt. It doesn’t wipe your record clean-it seals in the guilty verdict.
tRump pardoned Joe Arpaio but that pardon has been given the legal go ahead to be challenged in court because there are rules to pardons:
Burdick v. United States, 236 U.S. 79 (1915),[1] was a case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held that:
-A pardoned person must introduce the pardon into court proceedings, otherwise the pardon must be disregarded by the court.
Sheriff Joe’s wasn’t which is why it’s headed for court.
In a landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1915, Burdick v. United States, the Justices stated that individuals have a right to refuse a pardon because “acceptance” of one carries with it a “confession of guilt.” Over the years, many federal courts have relied on Burdick for this proposition, the most recent including the Arizona court in upholding President Trump’s pardon of former sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Since D’Souza did time admitted guilt, this is just a message to Michael.
Thank you, Mr. President!
Thank you for that excellent summary.
liked x millions
Except that he’s a right-winger without being “conservative” in any meaningful way.
