Luv that Christian compassion.
Good grief, grow the fuck up people.
Wow, wow, wow. This is 2015!!! WTF???
No wonder a significant percentage of young people don’t support organized religion. This makes me ashamed of this segment of the Christian community. If the Pope says “Who am I to judge?” and my elderly father (raised as a strict Catholic) can say “Well, I’ve come to realize that they are all God’s children,” then how do such officials claim to represent a kind or compassionate or reasonable church?
Tacky.
Really. No class at all. The middle of a funeral is not the time or place.
These are the kind of people with WWJD bumper stickers and all.
Just how out of touch is this church that they were unaware of their (presumably) members orientation until 15 minutes into the funeral service? It’s bad enough to be acting like this but not knowing beforehand ads insult to injury.
So much for the religion of love.
Republicraps - No doubt they will rot in hell.
Because these guys not only do not answer to the Pope, but consider that he represents a part of the Christian community they consider corrupt.
That said, suddenly cancelling a service that is already in progress is unbelievably insensitive. If you’re going to be particular about the content of services held in your facility, then you either need to screen it beforehand or spell out exactly what requirements you impose right from the start.
Chaplain Gary Rolando eventually presided over the funeral, which was moved to the mortuary across from the church, and told KUSA he lamented the protests, which he viewed as pushing an agenda.
Well buddy, that’s free speech, get over it, you’re pushing an agenda too. The same free speech that permits you to shun gays and lesbians, even to the point of canceling a funeral service after it has already started. By the way, pay your goddamn taxes.
“Pushing an agenda”. Yes, the agenda of being true to what it means to be a Christian you ass.
Stay classy, Christians.
Organized religion: winning hearts and minds one day at a time.
“organized religion” include various religious which would find canceling the funeral immoral
Not all terrorists carry guns and bombs. Not all terrorists are Muslim. Christians and so-called Christians can and do create just as much pain and suffering, and like the better known and more reported Muslim terrorists, these “Christians” also revel in the pain they inflict.
This is the first time I think that TPM hasn’t put front and center the fact that she killed herself with her own gun.
The nature of her death isn’t the story here. Regrettable as her death might be, this is about her funeral service…or lack thereof. The church apparently didn’t cancel the service because of the way she died, although some religions might take that approach. I sincerely doubt that if the Bible is remotely accurate about the way Jesus operated he’d be okay with this. It certainly wasn’t his style.
