Oh, lets face it. It wasn’t much of a campaign. He barely set foot in Iowa, and spent the vast majority of his time in NH, not showing up at all in SC or Nevada to my knowledge (besides a ring kissing ceremony to Adelson).
He campaigned in one state and came in 6th place.
He was a hard sale anyway. He was way too squishy for the base, even before they started on their anti-establishment jag. And the trial of his underlings looming in May was, rightfully, scaring the crap out of the donors.
I don’t think he ever recovered from the allegations of Bridgegate, even without the trial. And with the base today, NOBODY can be photographed hugging President Obama. Trump kissing on Guilliani dressed in drag, sure…but Obama? C’mon!!!
