Discussion: Christie On Pruitt Scandal: He 'Should Have Never Been There In The First Place'

The most logical explanation to me is that this is a measure of the enthusiasm of Trump supporters, mediated by a siege mentality.

Still, it’s good to see Chris up and about and out and around again. Even the Brits have noticed his resurrection.

And very tribal.

Not to mention evangelists who have left religion (and the R party) behind to support him.

Heeeeeres, Trumpie

Certainly any one who has the power to make you believe absurdities has the power to make you commit injustices. If you do not use the intelligence with which God endowed your mind to resist believing impossibilities, you will not be able to use the sense of injustice which God planted in your heart to resist a command to do evil.

Voltaire, translated but unparaphrased.

And this is the Trumpvangelical problem at its most dangerous.

But with these folks, it’s implicit that their tribe will be on “the top floor” in the afterlife and that “you can take it with you”. And all of these afterlife believers believe this. So, it’s almost as if a final conflagation is a great deal for them no matter whether they’re Muslims, Mormon, Mennonites, or whatever.

The floor of heaven is gonna need bigger and sturdier I-beams to hold the throng.

Ha, Heaven. Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.

‘Chris has Risen’

Good timing – it being Easter and all. Christie always knew how to grab a headline.

It’s the thing nowadays for writers to examine why evangelicals are forgiving PP for his many sins including a piece at the Atlantic. Theories vary but many come back to crushing reproductive rights and nothing to do with religiosity. The fundies also think his vile behavior is simply his “style”, as opposed to an expression of his “values.”

Sins are for those people. Also,

Yay, trade war!

This is the Friendship Park fence erected on the border between San Diego and Tijuana in 1971 where people would drive for miles to be able to reach out and visit and touch each other for a moment. Since PP there’s now a 30-minute time limit for visits with only ten people at a time. Dreamers, DACA recipients and others believe access to it will be shut off entirely.

Pruitt was selected by Kochs-Pence to undo 45 years of EPA work. Pretty good for 12 months. To think that this paranoid little shit wants to be AG, unbelievable. And Donald may go for it. Think of the money this guy is going to make for undoing the EPA. Pence will shower him after Donald leaves for Russia.

I don’t purposely seek out goods made in China, in fact the pet store where I bought dog food and treats for my late Zoe wouldn’t carry anything edible from China, store thought they were made with toxic ingredients, but so much else I buy is and there aren’t many alternatives. Think big box stores esp. Bed Bath & Beyond.

Sometimes when I think PP’s impeachment is within reach (he won’t be driven out like Nixon was), I realize we’ll still have Pence who also won in a rigged election.
