Discussion: Christie On Pruitt Scandal: He 'Should Have Never Been There In The First Place'

“I don’t know how you survive this one,” he added, referring to the scandal surrounding Pruitt’s former living arrangement.

“…to get away with something like that, you have to at least be governor of New Jersey.”

Shorter Christie: I should have been the one running this administration. I am IT.

But knowing Trump’s vengeful propensities, you know he’s gonna want to up the ante. Tarrifs on circuit boards, computer chips, etc., etc.

I really don’t know how Christie escaped Bridgegate without facing trial or being forced to resign after 3 other convictions in the matter. How a dirty Gov like him has a job on a major show is also head scratching (though not surprising?)

As for Christie’s comment, his assessment is correct that it was an incompetent transition. However, I think it’s much worse than that. I believe the entire purpose of the Transition was to figure out (1) how to pay the Russians back when they got to office for the help they received from Putin & co the campaign, (2) how to maximally grift and profit off the Presidency, (3) how to reward people who helped the campaign, and (4) how to find people who would be most pliable and would not put up any resistance to the radical agenda of destroying the agencies from within.

That we ended up with people like T-Rex, Pruitt, Price, DeVos, and Zinke was by design, not by accident.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. That’s fucking hi-larious.

Along those lines: Trump gets forced to expel the Russians, Trump doesn’t want to talk about it in public, Trump announces we are leaving Syria to ‘others.’ Am I wrong to read ‘others’ as ‘the Russians’?

I don’t hate Collins, but nor will I put her on a pedestal for doing what two thirds of Mainers would’ve wanted anyway.

That’s absolutely what that means. Assad was all but gone, but for Putin. Spanky lost Syria to the Russians, we need to start saying it now.

Something just occurred to me: was Brigid Kelly threatened? Mother of four, IIRC. And no way bill Baroni does this on his own, from what I’ve read.

I’m allowed to say that because I was thinking of the Sea Hag, then thought about Bluto, which brings me to Popeye the sailor, which brings me back to the whale, Christopher Christie (thar he blows…)

I wonder if Christie wants Pence gone as well. Christie of all people should know and recognize cronyism, he’s from NJ, but maybe what rankles Christie is that “good boy” Pence is just…can we say incompetent. And the back slapping, wink, wink, nudge, nudge is performed at a higher level of competency in NJ than what Pence produced.

you cannot do this with Rick Dearborn and Steve Bannon on the back of an envelope in 73 days

Fact check: back of a BevMo receipt. But in Bannon’s defense, it was two yards long.

Takes a certain kind of chutzpah mere voters don’t possess.

The ‘others’ are Russians and Iranians. Essentially, it enables both Russia and Iran to preserve Assad in place. In addition, Russia, Iran and Turkey will conspire to suppress the Kurds and will gladly partner with ISIS and Syria’s Al Qaeda affiliate (and other far right Sunni groups) to keep both Syrian Sunni moderates and Kurds in check. It’s an immoral and disastrous policy shift. Had HRC won the election, Russia wouldn’t have started its offensive in Aleppo and would be back pedaling right now trying to figure out how to let Assad go and maintain a foothold. Elections do matter.
