Christie is out of office. Why does he still have a security detail paid for by the citizens of New Jersey? How long will he have this protection?

I read another article on this and it just said “a period of time.” Not forever, but it wasn’t put in place just for him either.

eta- this seems apropos

I think it was just long enough to make sure he left the office without taking the last of the birthday cake.

Public scandals are nothing new for the embattled former governor who served a tumultuous eight years as governor and left with a shameless 15 percent approval rating.

a shameless shameful

I read both accounts several times, and don’t see much difference between the two. In either case, Christie attempted to enter one screening area, and was told to go to another one.
I guess we could get into a pissing match about intent, but who cares? The guy’s a has-been.

Oh he’ll show his ugly carcass around January of 2019 sniffing around the remains of the republican Party and thinking
Yeah I could be a contender…

Christie is currently trying to rehabilitate his image in NJ. A series of commercials showing Christie speaking to families of opiod victims at a candlelight vigil are getting lots of air play in NJ. At the end the compassionate Christie is giving hugs to family members.
I know nothing about this effort other than what’s in the commercial. The brash, smart-ass Christie is now the compassionate conservative. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to stay in politics even with the lowest approval rating ever of a NJ governor.

Didn’t he also claim he had absolutely nothing to do with that bridge thing?

Fool me once…

Isn’t his dishonesty enough for you? What does his weight actually have to do with anything?

And no, I’m not fat myself. this isn’t about me.

Sorry, not “apropos” at all.

Bill improvised this scene in Razor’s Edge. He said in the scene, almost verbatim, exactly what he said at John Belushi’s funeral, about John. In both the scene and at the funeral, it was an expression of deep sadness and regret at the loss of a close friend.

Was Christie a close friend of yours?

Poor Christie. Civilian life is a bitch.

Hey, if he’s trying to leave the state, do what you can to make it happen.

Christie girth & evading would seem to be mutually exclusive concepts.

Yeah, leaving should be made easier for him but that coming back home thingy, that may take awhile.

You have to admit, though, Christie is shameless.
