Wallace is right. But just this morning I heard reporters say they won’t worry about what Trump says - they’ll worry when he starts taking action. Seems to me it will be a little late when any voice not sanctioned by the state will have been silenced.
“In today’s episode, the role of token liberal whipping boy Alan Colmes will be played by Chris Wallace.”
This wasn’t fair …
Pubis didn’t get the questions in advance … and the cheer squad bus broke down …
Thing is, this is the action. It works up the base, and keeps the base in palm of hand.
edited to add: Oh and good for Wallace too. He’s never been the worst of them.
Oh, dear – has Trump at last awakened a sleeping giant? Ever since Watergate, the American press has had a ‘live and let live’ attitude towards the lies told by the government. Distinguished (or at least distinguishable) journalists have proudly proclaimed that holding the government accountable is not the task of journalism. Did it take the government calling the press liars to snap them out of their self-imposed impotence? “Only time will tell.”
Since Reince Priebus was previously with the GOP/RNC one must assume that the entire GOP/RNC believes the press is the enemy of the country and should be treated accordingly.
The pushback is SO hard in this interview about “24 hours about Russian spies” = Enemy (the way boiled down crux of what Priebus was saying, over and over again. It almost makes me think that the Russian spy story is beginning to really worry those inside. The smell over coverup keeps getting stronger.
An aside, while I appreciate Chris Wallace’s firm stand, surely he knows no one can stop Trump from saying anything. Once it is in his head - and especially if a crowd went wild over it - he will say it over and over and over again. No advisor, not even daughter and son-in-law can stop Trump from saying anything.
“If you’re going to come out with a story that says Russian spies are talking to your campaign, my G-d,” he said. “I mean, I think you should in some cases, or in most cases, actually have a named source.”
Do any members of the FISA Court that authorized the warrant count as a “named source”?
Chris Wallace and Shepard Smith know there’s no point doing this administration’s dirty work, since Bannon sends Breitbart after friend and foe alike.
Man, that’s scary. That’s like a guy falling off Trump Tower saying he’ll start worrying when he hits the ground.
Chris hears all the chatter behind the scenes and knows the excrement is about to hit the oscillating air movement appliance. Trying to get ahead of the upcoming storm.
Anyone ask how the Brit and Israeli PMs can meet with the President without State and Defense present? Scheduling conflict? Bannon gel problem?
Just when we need a Mike Wallace the most we get his milquetoast spawn Chris.
Of course, it could be worse. It could be Larry King.
Not much of a compliment is it?
Sort of ironic Fox News, arguably an enemy of the people, is deeply offended by the moniker.
Between these two, sigh, I suppose I’m on the side of Fox.
That man didn’t want anyone present when he was begging PM May for an invitation for a state visit.
Best I could do.

Still no leak of that Putin phone call…That’s some fine Chief of Staffing, Reince, yes? Well state-controlled-oiled machine, no?
I know. That’s what’s so sad. Here you are doing your best to give someone some credit and … It’s like we’re reduced to saying “At least Riefenstahl wasn’t as bad as Goebbels.” Or something.
