He endorses moving to Atlanta where lawmakers want the same measures. They were only saved by their face-saving governor.
Bravo, Charles! We’re told every day how there is no GOP establishment…so, what agency is coordinating all these absurd yet nearly identical state legislative efforts across the South?
Shunning is a time honored method of isolating and driving away unwanted people. The trick is pulling off the shunning of such a vast expanse of citizenry.
Let see. Retired 16 years ago. Great player–but was an asshole… Was a Republican asshole, now an “Independent” asshole. Just a general asshole. So, lets all pay close attention to what Sir Charles has to say.
I remember when he was on the other side of this issue. I love how far he’s come on LGBT equality.
Yes, the LGBT community should pick and choose among the people speaking up for their fight for equal rights and treatment. There certainly is a case to be made for occasionally telling someone advocating their cause to eff off and go to hell, they’re late to the party. Yeah, uh huh…
It’s fashionable now.
I’ll pass on letting Charles Barkley speak for me.
And? Why not reward the governor for doing the right thing.
Better yet The Carolina Panthers UNC, Duke athletes should refuse to play until this law is repealed. Watch it disappear in a heart beat.
Well, I’m sure this will repair the fractured friendship he has with Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan.
Arguably, that’s not the GOP establishment so much as the Charles Koch ALEC establishment.
If I’m embroiled in a war I’ll cast my lot with the guy in my foxhole pointing the gun outward at the enemy. When or if the bullets quit flying and the war is done he and I can hash out our differences free of fearing the marauding madmen at the gates.
So they’re choking on Koch?
Sir Charles.
Right or wrong?
(Though right in this case.)
Love him or hate him?
He is loud!

Sing it, Chuck! We’ll back you!
Good luck with that. Athletes are first and foremost people that are better at playing some game than 99% of the rest of us. Does that mean they have great insight into other aspects of life? No, there’s no guaranty and a lot of times they are just as big of assholes, if not more so, than the general public. It’s as if their extreme talent in one area of life makes them, and others, think they are great in all aspects of life. Especially male, heterosexual, athletes seem like they tend to be real assholes toward gays and women, people they seem to perceive as a lot weaker than them.
I don´t know. This:
“I think the NBA should move the All-Star game from there next year. As a black person, I’m against any form of discrimination—against whites, Hispanics, gays, lesbians, however you want to phrase it. It’s my job, with the position of power that I’m in and being able to be on television, I’m supposed to stand up for the people who can’t stand up for themselves,” Barkley said in an interview surfaced by Deadspin. “So, I think the NBA should move the All-Star game from Charlotte.”
Is pretty much the opposite of assholery.
“As a black person, I’m against any form of discrimination—against

my job, with the position of power that I’m in and being able to be on

Um…Charles, you are a Republican. That fact alone negates all of that.
