Discussion: CFPB To Shutter Student Lending Office In Charge Of Returning $750M In Relief

Student loan abuse? Trump University closed didnā€™t it?

Seriously why does the American Public at large accept this nonsense? Our European connections ask why people are not in the streets every day until the clown car is gone!

These mofosā€¦I hope every kid trying to go to school realizes that they are only being USED every single time a Republican pretends itā€™s ā€˜for the kidsā€™.

Dear God

Please let Michael Avenatti get mad at Mick Mulvaney.

Thank you.

This isnā€™t the first time Mulvaney has reshuffled the bureau to change sabotage the CFPBā€™s priorities mission.

FIFY, AP.

What they are doing to CFPB is ā€¦ I was going to say, about as bad as it gets. But, itā€™s really on par with everything else they do to hurt average Americans and those who need the most help. And, Trump supporters just donā€™t seem to understand or care that theyā€™re getting hurt. Just so they can be convinced that someone else, who is not just like them, gets hurt more.

  1. Asshole
  2. With enormous hemorrhoids
  3. I did have to look up the spelling
  4. This will end the second the GOP loses any part of Congress: and while acting director has pleaded with Congress to trim the bureauā€™s mandate and make it more subject to Congressional oversight
  5. This is the guy who thought that a modest amount of Federal dollars, leveraged by a lot of volunteer hours, was a waste of money even though it made the lives of many seniors much brighter and probably saved far more money than it cost, because it helped keep seniors out of care facilities longer and it meant regular contacts by people who could help spot and report problems.
  6. So, #1 and #2 are inadequate. Roll your own.

Director Paytoplay is just doing what heā€™s paid for.

Corruption thy name is Mulvaney.

You knowā€¦ it doesnā€™t even begin to make a lick of sense to say that this is some Trumpian bullshit to make America pay for the Trump U. fraud convictionā€¦

Which means thatā€™s exactly what this is.

Thatā€™s a large block of voters to be pissing off, and motivating to vote.

When I read shit like this it reminds me of Alan Greenspan whining while playing the stupid card:

A long-time cheerleader for deregulation, Greenspan admitted to a congressional committee yesterday that he had been ā€œpartially wrongā€ in his hands-off approach towards the banking industry and that the credit crunch had left him in a state of shocked disbelief. ā€œI have found a flaw,ā€ said Greenspan, referring to his economic philosophy. ā€œI donā€™t know how significant or permanent it is. But I have been very distressed by that fact.ā€

Most of the college-educated voters didnā€™t vote for Trump anyway.

The ones that did, will just blame Obama.

Some really smart person should find a database of all the students who are about to get royally screwed and make sure they are registered to vote. They really need to understand that the GOP decided that these ex-students need be remain in debt so that private institutions can profit.

Trump/Mulvaney translation: "Now its time to screw all those students with loans!"

A few years ago during the Duke Cunningham scandal (my rep at the time) I saw a list of political donors from my zip code. One guy was giving away lots of money to lots of different congresscritters, not just Duke. So I took a deep dive into the various databases and eventually came up with a whoā€™s who of dirty politicians. Thereā€™s a lot of money to be made from the student loan biz. Spent a few months digging and eventually sent my data to some people (a reporter and a senate staffer) for interpretation and found out it was just business as usual. Kinda makes me want to look in the database for connections to Mulvaney.

GOP governance:

  1. Give billions in tax breaks to the most wealthy
  2. Whine about not having enough money
  3. Take money from students, the elderly and childrenā€™s health services
  4. Go back to step 1 and repeat

This was all a big grab-bag for the financial industry starting in the late '80s under HW Bush. Then you throw in education executive pay, private universities, and cutting public higher education funding and itā€™s all just a big financial cluster fuck with our kids as the main course and billionaires like Trump cashing out.

Iā€™ll sell my soul before I let my kids be indentured to one of these usurers.

Trump has Cohen. Whoā€™s Mulvaneyā€™s bagman? Iā€™ll bet thereā€™s a lot of money being dumped into someoneā€™s shakedown ā€œconsultingā€ business. We just need the right porn star scandal to start the LLC exposure bandwagon rolling.

I hope the Democrats plaster this everywhere. Almost everyone has kids, grandkids, relatives, or friends who have student loans. They know how much kids depend upon these to complete their degrees and how burdensome the repayment plans can be. (Yet, so many college-aged Americans donā€™t vote. That is truly sad - not Trumpian sad.)

TPM got the first part of the demographic analysis correct. What it needs to do next is research the racial and geographic demographics information of the people in default or who would otherwise be likely to receive relief.

WE ALL KNOW WTF YOUā€™RE GOING TO FIND, SO HELP PROVE IT.

And we all know why it is extremely important to the GOP to keep these people from receiving that relief.

Iā€™ll say it again: NOBODYā€™S FOOLED.
