Discussion: CBO Exposes House GOP's False Promises On Pre-Existing Conditions

“I don’t know how CBO would know that,” King said. “This is going to be a political decision made in the states, I don’t know how the CBO becomes a political expert.”

That doesn’t refute the fact that people are going to lose coverage. THE IMPORTANT FACT IS THAT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO LOSE COVERAGE. Making it possible is not commendable.

So my better half who from childhood has type I diabetes due to a blown pancreas and as a result her body can’t produce insulin to keep her alive is not taking “personal responsibility” for her pre-existing condition?!

Fuck you, you piece of shit!

My grandson was born more than 3 months early; his whole life is a pre- existing condition that has already cost $500,000. He’s doing really well now. It seems a good investment to insure his healthy life. Should he and his parents be penalized for 70 or more years into the future? What will happen when he exceeds a lifetime cap some time down the road? The GOP is jeopardizing peoples’ health and finances so they can put more money into the pockets of wealthy donors who have more than enough to be comfortable. Heartless, shameful.
In reaction to the CBO score, MacArthur [brushed off the expertise of the non-partisan research agency, telling TPM he “fundamentally” disagreed with the “biased” report.

“They won’t opine on how much premiums will come down if a state takes both waivers” MacArthur said, … “Suddenly, they can’t come up with an estimate if a state takes two waivers? They just acknowledge that it will go down way more. That to me is disingenuous. There is a number,” he said.
“THIS REPORT IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG AND BIASED AND FURTHERMORE I WANT THEM TO PRODUCE ADDITIONAL NUMBERS!”

Didn’t you hear about the 4th fallback safety net? PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Your grandson should have waited the extra 3 months.

So if nobody, including CBO can figure out what the effect of the bill will be, why on earth are you voting for it?

Ali Velshi did a good breakdown on MSNBC earlier today. It is true that, according to projections, this new “healthcare plan” would lower premiums for some people in about 10 years. HOWEVER, it would lower them only by 1% more than leaving the current system in place AND the 1% savings would be for plans which cover far less in terms of medical care. Add that to the millions who would lose insurance altogether and you have a BAD BILL.

I apologize for being blunt, but fat black people.

I realize now I should have apologized for being blunt and cryptic. But still, fat black people.

See, when a normal person with a functioning empathy gland thinks “pre-existing condition” they think of a very wide range of possibilities, many of which fall firmly under “there but for the grace of God go I.” Blood clots, childhood cancer, premature babies, genetic heart defect, adult-onset halitosis…the possibilities are endless. And we empathetic types understand that anybody and everybody is at risk of getting a “pre-existing condition”.

When these GOP fucktards hear “pre-existing condition” the only thing they see in their heads are fat black people. Fat black people in “the hood” (i.e. Detroit or Chicago). Fat black people in “the hood” and “on drugs” and “sucking on the government teat” and “without the dignity of work” and <insert racist dogwhistle here>.

That. Is. All. They. See.

And if there’s one guiding principle in their lives, it’s that fat black people deserve nothing from Real Americans™. AKA fat white people.

“THE IMPORTANT FACT IS THAT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO LOSE COVERAGE.”

True. But Republican “thinking” here seems to be “If we don’t give the very wealthy a gigantic tax break, the Terrorists win.”

I know (sigh). But the doctors made the call to save my daughter’s life. I guess it was her fault…

7+ years to repeal ObamaCare, and this is what the GOP brain(?) trust comes up with…

But seriously, there will be single-payer in your grandson’s lifetime. I just hope your family and millions like it don’t have to suffer too much in the meantime. Me either, for that matter, as I ain’t no spring chicken.

So Republicans want to end the evil estate tax so rich people can pass on more of their wealth when they die.

At the same time, they want to mandate that people’s retirement savings can be pillaged by insurance companies when they get sick.

In other words, die wealthy or live destitute.

“There’s about four different layers that exist to cover pre-existing conditions, beyond which one isn’t even spoken about, which is one of the most important, and that’s just the personal responsibility we have in our lives that’s not even mentioned in there,” Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) told reporters.

It would be funny if it weren’t so serious. Mr. Mast, what the fuck does this word salad even mean? That the law doesn’t mention personal responsibility? Personal responsibility is a pre-existing condition? Responsibility has layers, like Shrek’s onions?

Dumbfuck piece of shit.

So basically, we will disagree with CBO until their numbers mesh with our GOP lies. SAD !!!
