Discussion: CBO: 32 Million More Uninsured Under Senate O'Care Repeal-And-Delay Bill

This will surely add to the impetus to vote for this thing after their great lunch with The Man.

Yep. The CBO had this scored awhile back.

This is even more devastating than I expected - especially in terms of the percentage of the population which would no longer have insurers in their area. That has been the primary talking point of the GOP against the ACA - and it’s much worse under their proposal.

This is compared to a baseline with the ACA working as designed. We all know Trump, McConnell, and the Granny Starver will do everything to undermine it. So, 32 million becomes what? 40 million? More?

Trump: “Weak sauce, CBO. People will rejoice with their new found choice.”

They’re getting closer. Just 270,000,000 more people uninsured and the bill will be perfect.

Well, nobody saw that coming.

I hope this helped Trump close the deal at lunch today. It was all going to get even better at lunchtime, ya know.

All they have to do now is get Kobach to identify these 32 million and wipe them off the voter roles.

Trump and GOP leadership:
“Well it’s not going to impact anyone in Congress. It’s not going to hurt any of our ultra-wealthy campaign donors.
And it’s certainly not going to affect any of the White House staff, the First Family, or our rich buddies. What the hell … let’s do it!”

What doomed Trumpcare and will doom any straight out repeal is not that tens of millions of people will lose health insurance but rather that tens of millions of White people will lose health insurance.

The support of Donald Trump by Evangelicals proves that “Values” in front of the word “Voter” has always been code for race. A universal Truth that must be screamed is RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ABILITY. Therefore any link between Class and Race is caused exclusively by discrimination.

The reason the GOP repeal of ACA collapsed, there was never any serious replacement, because of the realization that was obvious from the first moment ACA was written but not reported by the media until the last few months, that the main beneficiaries of ACA are the White working class. That is the GOP was able to rail against ACA calling it “Obamacare” as a giveaway to the undeserving poor until just recently when the news finally got out that “undeserving poor” were mostly White.

In America, because of years of discrimination much of it by law there is a link between class and race. The link between Class and Race means that whenever Class or help for the poor is being discussed, RACE is being discussed. The link between class and race is a fact everyone both understands and denies. Whenever anyone points out the link they are accused of playing the race card when in fact it is those denying the link that are playing the race card because denying the link allows for saying “the poor are poor because they are lazy or somehow not as good as us real Americans.”

Since legal discrimination ended and the social safety net and other New Deal programs including Social Security was extended to all Americans in the 1960’s, this link between class and race diminished as over half of all Blacks have risen out of poverty. But in perception that link has not changed. Over 70% of the beneficiaries of ACA have always been White but until the last month or so most people thought that most ACA beneficiaries Blacks. Or to put another way, what has finally been reported these last weeks is that far from ignoring the White working class, most of Obama’s and Democrats efforts including ACA are for the White working class.

The question going forward is what political (voting) ramifications will there be with the realization that most government programs in America including those to help the poor are mostly for White people?
