Discussion: Carson Says He Won't Drop Out As Long As His Campaign Has Money

Discussion for article #246625

Oh, please, where can I send my donation? If we all just chip in $1.00, we’d be able to enjoy the rather peculiar wit and wisdom (or is it drug-addled?) of dear, sweet, stupid Ben.

Why quit the grift when there’s still money on the table?

“The commoditization of the electorate is precisely what drove me into this race… That’s why I’ve vowed to continue our campaign as long as we have revenue…”

He’s being far more honest than he even realizes.

“That’s why I’ve vowed to continue our campaign as long as we have marks and cash, until the scam has run its course.

Carson just makes it too easy for us.

Well, he does need to raise the dough to re-do the misspelled “poverb” that’s on his foyer wall. That’s gonna cost some bucks to correct, since he’ll have to hire a spelling consultant.

“The commoditization of the electorate is precisely what drove me into this race. Hundreds of thousands of supporters drafted me to run, and hundreds of thousands more continue to push me onward,” Carson wrote, likely referring to his donors.

In business literature, [commoditization][1] is defined as the process by which goods that have economic value and are distinguishable in terms of attributes (uniqueness or brand) end up becoming simple commodities in the eyes of the market or consumers.

“I trust that the American people will soon wake-up and realize that leadership is not about how one speaks, but rather the life one leads,” he wrote. “My candidacy is about restoring the principles of self-government by running as a true citizen-statesman who is accountable to all and beholden to none.”

Someone needs to remind him that he will never be confused for [Cinncinnatus][2].

“It is a fundamentally undemocratic response to insinuate that people should be stripped of their choice ‘for the good of the party,’” he wrote. “That’s why I’ve vowed to continue our campaign as long as we have revenue and support, until the people have decided.”

Now someone (on here) warned me that while Kasich’s ass was likely out of here, as long as Carson had an opportunity to stay on the grift, he wasn’t going to leave. I decided to not argue that, because Carson couldn’t be that stupid to think that people were going to still buy into this grift.

I was wrong and that person was right.

“My candidacy is about restoring the principles of self-government by running as a true citizen-statesman who is accountable to all and beholden to none.” (Ben Carson, M.D.)

Sounds good on paper … but in the real world, it just doesn’t work that way.

Dr Ben, Trump has extra cash… He’ll even front for airplane rides.

He is unlikely to pick up many delegates tomorrow due to threshold % requirements in most of them. The money should start drying up on 3/2.

We should also be sending Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio a few bucks. Trump needs the thorns in his side.

If we were considering rational people, I’d agree. I don’t think Carson supporters can be considered rational, especially considering that the vast majority of them are folks who believe that evolution is a Satanic myth and that Adam and Eve had vegetarian T-Rexes for neighbors in the Garden of Eden 5,000 years ago.

There are these people a few houses down who’ve had a Carson sign in their yard for about a year now, I think (it’s been there a loooong time). I don’t know whether to feel sorry for them, or to be amused by them, or to vomit. Maybe all three?

Do you know them well enough to know their religious inclinations?

They also put up “We vote pro-life” signs closer to the elections, so I can hazard a guess.

Hell, he’s got nothing else to do.

No, he won’t stay as long as his campaign HAS money but as long as it can RAISE money.

I think you’re right on that. It’s like the rubes that send money into the megachurches There just isn’t any fundamental rationale behind it.

Carson says he won’t drop out as long as his campaign is making him money.

There, fixed it for ya.
