Hundreds of thousands isn’t going to get it. He needs an order of magnitude more and he’s not going to get that. It’s a simple analysis. He rose in the polls early on and the spotlight was put on him because of that. People got a good look at him and he plummeted. He’s not coming back.

Until Democratic constituencies reliably go above 70% consistently, then we are just about done. One of the biggest things that Democratic constituencies have been hurt by is the instant culture.
It’s why they are impatient
It’s why they get bored with “politics”
It’s why Down Ticket (which run the country at least as much as the Presidential races) means nothing
Obama himself said a sanitized version of the above when he addressed the Illinois State Legislature a week or so ago (thanx, chammy for hipping to the webcast…I saw the entire speech and it was magnificent). Imagine someone with the patience of Obama…a man knowing that the people he was fighting for decided to stay home in 2010 and 2014…and having to smile at them and praise them.

There are no Carson signs in my liberal Chicago neighborhood, but when I was home for the holidays in Iowa I saw a yard with several of them just down the hill.
I guess my reaction was a bit from Column One (sorry) and a bit from Column B (amused). Nothing about Mental Ben really rises to the level of vomit. He’s nothing worse than ridiculous.
