W.E.B. Dubois asked Sanger to go into the black community and talk about birth control because poverty and unplanned pregnancies are linked.
Furthermore, Sanger wanted to give women the right to determine when they would and not become a mother which has greatly extended female life expectancy. Name one decent thing the confederates did!

I’m no doctor (and I’m beginning to doubt that Carson is either) … but to me, no matter whether the fetus has a beating heart, the fact that it cannot survive without the mother’s support makes me wonder just what “Dr.” Carson thinks “life” is. I do so “love” it when political ideology gets in the way of science, reality and facts.

What Dr Carson and so many of his fellow travelers who object to funding Planned Parenthood miss is that the work of PP in the areas of family planning, birth control, sex education, reproductive health, and prevention of sexually transmitted disease has helped to reduce the number of unwanted and/or problematic pregnancies – and in so doing has reduced the need for abortions.
If Planned Parenthood were to be shut down, expect to see a significant rise in teenage and unwanted pregnancies and a growing epidemic of carnage resulting from faulty and/or illegal abortions, particularly among poor women unable to afford to travel to and pay for a safe & legal abortion.
