And now, from Texas, they are threatening to sue charities who help Syrian refugees.
SUING CHARITIES THAT HELP REFUGEES. #SUING CHARITIES THAT HELP REFUGEES!!
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the state of Texas began notifying charities and other non-profit groups that they could be sued for helping Syrian refugees.
The Houston Chronicle reported on Monday that the first lawsuit threat had been issued to the Dallas chapter of the International Rescue Committee by Texas health commissioner Chris Traylor after Gov. Greg Abbott Ā® claimed he had the power to overrule the federal government and block refugees from being resettled in the state. http://crooksandliars.com/2015/11/texas-threatens-sue-non-profit-groups
So are we to leave these people to the vagaries of ISIS or some other radical outfit who will take pains to make them hate us?.
Do we leave them in the desert to starve and thereby hate our rejection of them?
Benās thinking are the same reason all immigrants have been hated thru our history. But the facts are all groups that come here make America strongerā¦ We are already a diverse people. Keeping some group out isnāt gonna change that.
WOW. Republics, CARSON especially included, CAUSE the āAmerican resentmentā and then USE that as their reason not to do the moral thing.
Just WOW.
Never mind; CANADA is taking in 25,000 Syrian refugees THIS MONTH. Iām sure next year we can take in the USās paltry share, Canadians not being cowardly assholes.
It really is striking how cowardly the Republican base has become. They should all be wearing lightning rods, because the chances of getting struck by lightning far exceed the chances that they will be killed by any terrorist.
Ben Carson on Tuesday said that the U.S. should not accept refugees from Syria ā¦ adding that Americansā resentment of Syrian refugees could increase the likelihood of refugeesā āradicalization.ā
You mean like the way Conservatives became radicalized by a black president, Ben?
Or the way American Conservatives are becoming more radicalized, if thatās even possible, by the anti-immigrant and anti-refugee rhetoric (aka propaganda) Fox News and Conservative politicians keep throwing out there like gas on a bonfire?
In other words, Ben, youāre projecting again - like Republicans do.
