Discussion: Bush Praises MI Governor For 'Taking The Lead Now' In Flint Water Crisis

Snydie. As in “Heckuva job, Snydie.”

The difference between Brownie and Snydie is that while Bush and Browne’s incompetence, indifference, moral bankruptcy, and general stupidity made the Katrina response a disaster within a disaster, a complete failure to fulfill the most basic function of the agency charged with ameliorating a natural disaster, neither Bush nor Brown actually caused Katrina to form, strengthen to a Category 5 and then make a beeline to the worst possible place for it to make landfall on the entire Gulf Cost.

Jeb!: Snyder has kept MI safe, especially Flint.

STFU JEB!

How difficult would it be just to keep quiet about this idiot Snyder ?

Jeb Bush Praises Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder

Emails show that Governor Snyder ignored and dismissed the problem more than a year ago, even as children began showing signs of irreparable lead poisoning.

If ISIS had poisoned a city’s water supply, it would be considered an act of terrorism.

The ability of the Bush family to be tone deaf continues unabated.

True! As we all know now, it was Obama manipulating the weather’s forces with his Kenyan-Socialist-Muslim mind trickery.

Remember, this is the strategy that worked so well for Jeb’s brother: F*** up spectacularly, then get hailed as a Great Leader for doing something in response to the f***up, even if that response is almost completely wrong.

It’s also the strategy that worked so well for the tories in England: tank your economy, make it worse, and then take credit when things finally get a little better despite your efforts.

Very true. Snyder made this Category 5 all on his own. It was his idea to circumvent the electoral process and take control over cities and townships that fall on economic hard times and appoint “emergency” managers. Who then promptly decided that poisoning the entire town to save $100/day was an awesome idea.

And then, when it started to come out, Snyder was leading the charge to keep it covered up…inflicting even more damage to the people of Flint…because, hey, $100/day is important.

He completely owns the disaster AND the followup.

I love that word {nugatory:0 and yes he is pathetic. I am almost embarrassed for him

You know, even if JEB is continuing his delusion that he will still be in the hunt when Michigan rolls around, having Snyder’s endorsement is NOT going to help win that state…quite the opposite.

Just another example of JEB running the worst political campaign in years.

I’m not sure how Jeb! thinks it’s a good idea to support a man who has, as it is becoming increasingly clear, deliberately allowed thousands of people to get poisoned. Like in the political world there is no upside to this. None. They should leave Snyder twisting in the wind because you don’t want to hitch your cart to the dying horse.

But, this is Jeb!, the man running an increasingly self-sabotaging campaign. So your mileage may vary.

If there is a wrong side of an issue, Bush will take it.

Here’s some news that hit AP two days ago but hasn’t been much in circulation I dare say.

Edit to add: Actually, it’s two PR firms.

Yep. Snyder hires out-of-state PR firms to help him deal with the bullshit he created. Won’t say how he’s going to pay for it. Says it won’t come out of pubic money though he still won’t say how he’s paying for it when asked by reporters. Fuck Snyder!

pRick Snyder should be receiving praise from his cellmate for moving around just the right amount while being punked twice a day.

As my co-worker just said: “Heckuva job, Snyder…”

Depends…which city? If it was Baltimore or Chicago, I wouldn’t be surprised to find the GOP/Teatrolls trying to look the other way.

…well… He praised dubya’s handling of his wars. Why is this any different?

“What I’m saying, though, instead of saying the dog ate my homework, it’s someone else’s fault, once it became clear, he took — he’s taken the lead now,” Bush told CNN. “And that’s exactly what I think leaders have to do.”

I just read this again and found myself caring about what an awful, terrible, no-good, terrible, corrupt know-nothing dimwit Jeb! is despite the fact that he’s got about as much chance of ever becoming president as Bill the Cat.

“Once it became clear?” Once it became clear? Snyder caused this disaster. He directly caused it. He caused it the same way the leaders of the Soviet bloc caused one vast environmental and public health disaster after another: by stamping out democracy and appointing local dictators whose mandate contained ideologically-determined goals to be accomplished with utter disregard for the health, safety and well-being of the people governed, executed in the dark, with absolute assurance that adverse consequences would be concealed and suppressed. Who could possibly have foreseen it would lead to disaster?

Once it became clear? In October, 2014, in a widely reported story locally, GM let it be known that it’s Flint engine plant was going to buy water from Detroit because the new Flint city water was so corrosive they thought it would damage their engines, throwing the blocs and.or the parts out of spec! October, 2014. That’s how long they’ve known about the corrosion problem. And the only thing anyone thought about was "oh noes! We’re going to lose GM water revenue until 2016 when we get our own pipeline to Huron built.

GM tells them “the water is so corrosive it will damage the cast iron, cast aluminum and steel we make engines out of” and no one says “OMG! We’ve got people drinking that stuff!” Instead, his people spend more than a year rigging tests, pooh-poohing local concerns and suppressing news of the problem. It took outsiders coming in and doing the work of government to force the issue to the surface. Yeah, that’s leadership for you. The kind of leadership Stalin, Mao and the North Korean dynasty gave their countries.

If you don’t know or understand the story then don’t comment on it JEB. This only makes him look more out of touch than he already is. Maybe Trump is right. . . your mama won’t be able to make it better for you.

“And he’s fired people and accepted responsibility to fix this.”

Followed by,

“What I’m saying, though, instead of saying … it’s someone else’s fault, once it became clear, he took — he’s taken the lead now,”

These people have no fcking clue what leadership means.
