Discussion: Bush Praises MI Governor For 'Taking The Lead Now' In Flint Water Crisis

Discussion for article #245037

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) on Sunday praised Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R)

Even if you’ve been living off planet for the last two years, the above should tell you all you need to know about Jeb Bush.

First, the Flint case is yet another example of environmental racism and the result of conservative ideology that sacrifices the common good to increase profit.

Second, the fact that lead (Pb) and lead (show the way) are homonyms make this statement and Bush’s following one singularly ironic:

Bush said that he thought the governor has ā€œtaken the lead now.ā€

accepting responsibility for fixing the problem isn’t the same as accepting responsibility for causing the problem in the first place…

ā€œWhat I’m saying, though, instead of saying the dog ate my homework, it’s someone else’s fault, once it became clear, he took — he’s taken the lead now,ā€ Bush told CNN.

That’s really funny if you pronounce lead ā€œledā€ instead of ā€œleedā€.

Inability to recognize incompetence seems to run in the family.

ā€œYou’re doing a heck of a job, Brownie.ā€

Attempting to clean up after the underlings you hired are caught after poisoning children for about a year qualifies as leadership in JEB’s ā€˜mind’ ?!?

Not exactly, Snyder was dragging his feet — it was the newly elected Mayor of Flint who got the ball rolling on the emergency declaration and created so much noise that it was too embarrassing not to.

Yet another example of Jeb!'s oddly-skewed vision. Not a word about the effects of lead poisoning on a generation of Flint residents. And, for that matter, none from Snyder either.

In this case its ā€œHeckuvajob Rickā€. His approval for Snyder is nothing more than the usual GOP tribalism that says, ā€œhe’s one of ours and I’ll do my best to protect him from serious criticismā€. Actual facts are meaningless to Jeb!, since clearly he hasn’t taken the time to look into this disaster. Not sure that would help Jeb! though, since the man is about as dumb as they get.

Had Governor Snyder been a Democrat, does anyone really believe he would be praising him? Jeb! is a nugatory, empty suit.

This kind of tribal loyalism seems to run in the Bush family:

ā€œYou’re doing one heck of a job Ricky!ā€

He didn’t ask for help. He pretended nothing was wrong. FOR YEARS.

I really thought that there wasn’t much else that could be done to tarnish the Bush family brand after W… I was wrong.

Ahhh…its all making sense to me now.

Apparently Snyder has been providing Jeb with drinking water for quite some time now. That would explain why Jeb has been perhaps the most incompetent and tone deaf candidate to come down the pike in many years. Lead poisoning. Its the most plausible answer to his campaign performance I have heard yet.

So, when it pretty much becomes clear that you knew but were doing nothing and eventually are forced to do something by public outcry it is leadership?
