Where were the obvious follow up questions? The studies by GWU and Harvard and the estimate from PR Governor Rosello are literally two orders of magnitude higher than Trumpâs self congratulatory illusion, so let me ask you again Mr. Long. And how do these estimates compare to the statistical analysis done by FEMA or, if "we donât count deaths,â then by the federal agency who is charged with that responsibility?

This is like asking one of these clowns if they agree with Trump that global warming is a hoax created by the Chinese. Of course they wonât correct it, but at the same time they canât really defend the claim, so instead they go with some version of âthe numbers are all over the place, thereâs just no way to know whatâs actually happening.â
Of course Brock knows that the reality in this case is that most of the difference between the initial death toll and the eventual death toll is the difference between direct / day-of-the-event deaths, and later / indirect deaths.
Trump only wants to talk about the immediate direct deaths â drowning, fatally injured wen house collapsed, etc â and doesnât want to acknowledge the subsequent, indirect deaths.
Why? Partly because the indirect deaths make up most of the total death toll, and partly because many of the indirect deaths may have been caused by the administrationâs weak and incomplete response to the disaster.
So Brock covers for Trumpâs dissembling, by mentioning the difference between direct and indirect casualties, while not admitting that Trump is vastly understating the actual death toll by only acknowledging the initial, direct casualties. And then throwing a big blanket of obfuscation over the whole thing by claiming that âthe numbers are all over the place.â

He apparently did something that really POed his boss Kristen Nielson who is now gunning for him to be replaced by one of her partners from the Dim Son reign of error. Dotard gonna have a hard time deciding who to fire when Nielsen is doing such a fine job of locking up kids in concentration camps while Brock is doing double time supporting the idiots lies. Good god almighty can you imagine having a job that depended on sucking up to a useless piece of crap like dotard? What would it be like waking up every morning knowing your job depended on being a sycophant rather than focusing on getting aid to disaster victims?

You may be right. But what struck me about Kavanaugh was how inappropriate and phony his interaction was with his daughterâs basketball team. The girls were 12 or 13 years of age, and he was sort of hugging them, they were gazing into his eyes, etc. Have you of you hung around with preteens? They donât behave like that with adults, even with adults they respect. It was as though Kavanaugh was trying way too hard to prove that he has a positive relationship with women.

Iâd be surprised if there isnât some at least mostly accepted methodology for calculating deaths from disasters, including both direct and indirect. They happen all the time, and we always get numbers. Iâve never heard anyone say âwell, you just never knowâ.
