Discussion: Brock Long Won't Correct Trump Conspiracy On Hurricane-Related Deaths In Puerto Rico

Deplorable. A stain on his profession.

By comparison, Brownie did a heck of a job.

Just another Trump sycophant trying to keep his job.

Deplorable and incompetent.

I knew people in those states affected should have worried after the Trump administration’s handling and excuse-making after Maria.

Brock Long is responsible for providing relief and saving lives in the most deadly of natural disasters. He says FEMA isn’t concerned with how many people died as a result of his decisions and policies. We have no reason to have any faith in his leadership or willingness to assess and learn from mistakes.

In authoritarian regimes loyalty is prized above all else.
Competent professionals are replaced by loyalists.

“There’s a lot of issues with numbers being all over the place,” Long added on Fox News Sunday. “It’s hard to tell what’s accurate and what’s not.”

But… Isn’t that, like, your f*&#ing job? Figuring out what’s accurate? How else can you provide assistance appropriately?

Long is just afraid that Trump will think he’s secretly a Democrat if he answers honestly.

Well put. Like @chelsea530 's post above points out, this is a man responsible for the allocation of disaster resources basically saying “disasters are complicated – what’s anyone to do?”

What a toady

In a way, though, Trump is right. Most of those approximately 3000 people weren’t killed by Maria - they were killed by the neglect, incompetence, malfeasance, and corruption of the Trump adminstration’s response (and lack thereof) in Maria’s aftermath.

With all the people who died in the wake of disasters FEMA should have responded to more responsibly, toadying is really the least of Long’s sins.

Pretty much anyone who’s had a career has seen shabbily run organizations headed by mealy-mouthed ass-kissers like this. I’ve seen it for a lifetime and I’m sick of it. This bastard bears a responsibility for those deaths, and it all flows from the top. Disgusting.

Did Kellyanne coach this guy in the art of gobbledygook? Doesn’t seem he directly answered one question. Fuck him. And the administration has him marked for destruction anyway. Not gonna save his job no how no way. I wonder just whose toes he stepped on.

A) Republicans, don’t be silly. This was not done by Democrats to make Donald look bad. He does that by himself, and besides, it was a study commissioned by his government.

B) Assume Republicans are right. If so, we need to fill FEMA with Puerto Ricans. Anybody with the expertise to ride out a direct hit from a Category 5 hurricane on an isolated island while living in a hut, then surviving for months with no water, food, or medicine…

Those are the truly genetically superior!

What a useless tool. He’s the type of pre-limbic cretin who’d say, “Let’s just call Pi 3.1”. And if he wants to “see numbers all over the place” he should climb to the nearest rooftop (like hurricane victims) and empirically test:

Love science? In favor of facts? Think the truth matters?

The time to register people to vote is running out in some states. To see your state’s voter registration deadlines look here:

Download and print copies of this Federal Voter Registration form, valid in all 50 states and US Territories:

https://vote.gov/files/federal-voter-registration_1-25-16_english.pdf

This site, https://www.aauw.org/resource/organize-a-voter-registration-drive/, has a how-to on organizing a voter registration drive or just sitting outside Wal Mart with a folding chair and a card table.

Register people to vote. Get to the polls. Remember the House writes the checks for our government. A Congress with a conscience and a spine could say “NO!” to Trump’s follies.

VOTE!
