Trump’s notion of executive privilege has very little relationship to my understanding of the law surrounding executive privilege.
One can substitute virtually anything in place of “executive privilege,” can’t one? 
Last I checked, the census involves all of us having a stake in what happens, and once completed will outlast this maladministration, and probably the next one as well. So, NO, this fucker doesn’t have some kind of special proprietary rights to that information or the discussions between individuals over how he’s coerced, manipulated, twisted, swindled, connived and corrupted the census bureau into doing his unlawful bidding for the benefit of trying to hold onto to power at all costs. This should never be allowed to stand. tRump and the GOP are not entitled to rig the census or to be able to secure permanent majorities into the foreseeable future. Nope. No Way. No How.

You’re talking about the value of precedent. Anybody who has taken a Con Law class knows that the Constitution means exactly what five Supreme Court Justices say it means, nothing more, nothing less. We now have five Justices who subscribe to the Unitary Executive Theory so precedent doesn’t hold much sway.
Comes down to the judge, who will likely review the documents in camera. If they’re damning, I imagine we’ll be watching another black-robed KKKlansman protect Trump.
