After reading Corker’s questions and comments to Secretary Kerry, I’m beginning to wonder if the GoP and Koch Bros and affiliates are indeed very much involved in flaring up all of these domestic and international crises on purpose. Otherwise, why would not Corker put aside that dumb GoP/T-TP mindset and step up to the plate and do what must be done! And that is to have an INTELLIGENT conversation about stopping ISIS! After all we paying money for this crap…once again to the always in combat mode industry. Shame, shame, shame on every single one of them!

There are no term limits in the Senate, as you probably know, but Boxer may be imposing her own term limit by suggesting strongly she won’t run in 2016.
We already have term limits. They’re called “elections.”

Boxer is hinting at not running in 2016, but Feinstein’s term is up in 2018 when she will be 83, and Newsom is very ambitious and a reliable liberal. He was my mayor once and I’d support him in a heartbeat.

I’ve always been very proud to be represented by Senator Boxer - and most of the time, proud to be represented by Senator Feinstein, who - even when I disagree with her - presents an intelligent argument.
So happy to see Senator Boxer stating the obvious in this hearing today. If only the capitol press corps - or what passes for it - could be as astute.

What you mean is limited number of terms. The term limit in the Senate is 6 years.
What kind of construction? Publicly-funded projects a la the Ryan family?

Republicans care about being in power. They don’t care about the country.
Dems need to repeat that concept - Republicans only care about their party. Democrats care about the country.

By this point, I would have hoped to see this on a DAILY BASIS from Democrats. There is no Republican who is going to be swayed by a Democrat acting like Republican-lite, ready to head for the hills the moment the dreaded word “Obama” is mentioned. So why the hell do it? For the Independents? REALLY!?!?!!!??
I have often been less than complementary about “Independents”. However, they ARE Americans, and Americans tend to be courageous and admire those who have courage–the courage to stand for something. And it would surprise many of these so-called “Blue Dog-acting” folks that if a spine were shown, that respect would follow.
A story is instructive. In the taking of the Island of Peleliu, in the Pacific Theatre in WWII (during the course of Jim Crow), a black marine volunteered and (against policy) fought with distinction during that horrible campaign and upon completing his mission needed a haircut on-ship. At first, the barber refused; but that situation was remedied in a hurry when one of the officers read that barber a hell of a Riot Act. Courage registers. Pusillanimous pandering is vile, especially in the case of Democrats who piss away whatever platform their Party has.
McCain was a POW. That being said, his current ineptitude and outright near-sedition, when it comes to foreign policy, brings to mind a person who, because he hit a winning home run in the 1973 World Series, gets free drinks whenever he stops by at the local pub. How does this metaphor translate to affairs of State? Are we so stupid that we go:
POW 50 years ago=2014 foreign policy expertise???
But at least McCain DID fight. The rest of the BaggerSenators (whose combat record is as blank as copypaper) can, in the name of my D-Day Dad, kiss my ass.
How dare they use a matter of life and death to politically grandstand!!!
