Discussion: Boehner's Appoints 4 Men, 4 Women To Panel Investigating Planned Parenthood

The only way this panel will look legitimate is if democrats participate. They can take a pass, and let the republicans hang themselves. The optics will be terrible when you have just republicans asking questions and badgering women from PP.

Hell, except for a (very) few Catholic families, Mormon and Hassidic Jewish people and the Quiverfull variety of Evangelicals, most married religious people I know, even devout ones, practice birth control.

If there’s one thing we learned during yesterday during Clinton’s Benghazi testimony, it’s the importance of having Democrats on the panel to not only give witnesses a break when they’re being endlessly hammered with stupid ass questions but to also expose the dishonesty and games being played by Republicans heading up the investigation.

It’s the same question Dems faced at the start of the Benghazi committee; I think they made the right decision by participating then, and I think they’ll make the right decision by participating now.

Without Dems on the committee, the GOP will basically be able to run roughshod over the people who testify. With Dems, at least there will be pushback and time for the witnesses to rebut the GOP’s harangues.

Republicans would simply frame the Democrats’ unwillingness to participate as proof Democrats are running scared, that they’re afraid of PP being exposed as baby killers or something. And the American public would eat it up with a spoon and agree that Democrats must be hiding something. This is war, and you can’t win if you don’t show up.

I read an article that said the reason why republicans get legitimacy for some of their very partisan witch hunts is that democrats participate by asking legitimate questions. If democrats participate and do what they did yesterday by just saying how this is just a prosecution of PP than they should participate.

This is what our modern-day Pharisees who currently control Congress should be investigating:

terrorist attacks against Planned Parenthood clinics

I’m pretty sure Clinton probably performed some of those abortions herself too.

We can be assured it will all go to hell in a hand basket fairly quickly, so there is that…

Oh, so that’s why they keep singing this song.

It’s all making sense now.

True that. Between both myself and the lovely Mrs. SBP there are multiple forms birth control at work keeping the world safe. Three kids is more than enough, but we can’t get enough of each other. More in love than ever.

And now this, he’s a bigger fool than I thought he was.

What sort of brain dead people vote for this woman, besides the NRA, Monsanto and the Koch Brothers?

Why does he even care, he’s getting out of politics and doesn’t need bait for republican votes anymore?

Why because yesterday and the last PP hearing/farce went so
well. Republicans never let facts or reality
get in the way of their lies and conspiracies

Weird thought: What if this were actually Tawn E. Boner’s way of trolling (and exploding) the Rethuglican caucus? Sort of his little parting shot — "Here you go, losers!"

They never get tired of lying, do they?

Once a divisive shit, always a divisive shit. As I posted when TPM ran the piece about Reid saying all those nice-like things about Boner, he’s been every bit as much as the problem and any of the Teahadis. One last grand “Fuck you” to reasonableness and decency.

There’s this weird, unshakable delusion among Republicans that if they somehow present their message in different packaging, if they just change the messenger, use more appealing terminology, voters will agree with their policies. They don’t believe their policies and ideology are ever the problem. That’s why they keep trying to do the same things over and over again, and it’s why they’re shocked every time their efforts fail.
Well, that and they’re stupid.
