Yes, but not like you or I would. Here, they know damn well that it’s not going to go anywhere…or that the House approving a bill today to defund the ACA and PP has no chance ever of becoming law. EVER. Their myopia is such that the “end game” to them is simply to use their control over the House and Senate to rile the base for 2016. Nothing more, nothing less. End game to them doesn’t include such invconvenient concepts as “the greater good” or “might this ultimately backfire?” or “what do we do when we catch the car?”

It’s all more like the sea cucumber and its reaction to a threat, which is to entirely self-eviscerate by spewing its internal organs and tissues out its anus. “What next?” never occurs to it…and, frankly, trying to explain what it might be thinking that leads up to its explosion of guts in terms that the rest of us can understand is an exercise in futility because the very act of framing the process in terms of cogent, rational thought belies the fact that it involves none.

Thanks for bringing that up Annie. I think you’re absolutely right about that.

I remember a few years ago, someone said that the ultimate end point of getting rid of legal abortion was getting rid of legal birth control. I told them I thought they were out of line because of Griswold. Now I realize I was wrong. Because I think that is where the teabaggers are headed on this.
