I insist that the money wasted on this investigation be paid for out of Congress’ personal funds- that is Boehner and every Republican should be forced to take the operational costs of this investigation out of their own pockets. It is a colossal waste of time and money.
Boehner went on to say “And I pledge that we’ll continue this investigation and manufacturing our phony outrage no matter the facts.”
In the meantime, job creation legislation gone fishing.
So they’re going ahead with this boondoggle? What a waste of the taxpayer’s money.
This is a political ploy. As such, should be paid for from the repubs, t-bags, campaign funds!
I am sick to death of the “small government” t/bags, repubs, wasting OUR hard earned money, on their personal political advancement!
Oh goodie. This will be face of the GOP that we see trotted out for the next year. That should work out good for them. /snark
They clearly learned nothing from the 90s when they went after Clinton and lost seats.
If they’re going to do it regardless - and given their failure to gain traction on anything else, this is all they’ve got left - we should be happy with GOP House leadership’s choice on who’ll lead it. Gowdy is a spectacular doofus.
No offense to SC in general, but they’ve got some doozies in their delegation of Teabaggers and Nihilists in the House of Representatives. But wasted time and money we must…so says the Orangeman of O-hio.
Every administration official who testifies needs to stick to a strict script in which they point out:
-the 13 embassy and consulate attacks under Bush that resulted in the deaths of more than 50 people.
-the number of times the administration was refused additional embassy security funding.
-that the embassy in Cairo was also attacked that day over the video and there were violent protests cropping up all over the world as a result of anger over the video.
-that Ambassador Stevens was twice offered additional security.
If I were the president, I would direct every administration official to answer each question with one of the above items. Democrats who do testify need to stay very calm and go full on Bachman (i.e. no matter the question, stick to your message, even if the question has nothing to do with your answer). It’ll only result in GOPers flipping out on camera when confronted with the truth of what happened.
Nice to see he got another job after the banjo scene in Deliverance.
Or shutting the government down.
They probably lined up a bunch of candidates and told someone to step forward to volunteer, and this was the only guy left after the rest of them took two steps back. Doofus indeed.
This guy they got to head this thing, voted to be able to sue the President of the US…
From Wikipedia:
“On March 4, 2014, Gowdy introduced the ENFORCE the Law Act of 2014 (H.R. 4138; 113th Congress) into the House. The bill would give the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate both the standing to sue the President of the United States in a federal district court to clarify a federal law (that is, seek a declaratory judgment) in the event that the executive branch is not enforcing the law. House Republicans argued that the bill was necessary because the Obama Administration refused to enforce the laws.”
Yep. Sounds like this guy is a bona fide hater of this administration, so clearly he has all the requisite qualifications. I’m sure he’ll be fair and just, much like Issa is…SNARK!
Just look at this South Carolina buffoon. Another vain feckless GOP poser dandy. The republican party is a miserable mess of a joke at the moment. It is as if the republican party wants to fail. Continuing to push this weak arse popcorn fart and stale twice failed shyte of an issue insures that repub voters will continue leaving in droves, even faster than they are dying.
Republicans call him Gowdy the Good. Just as they refer to Prince John of Orange with the same adoration. They’ve turned themselves into a fucking cult.
I’ve watched this hack on C-Span many times. Boehner picked a winner here. Not a piece of truth in anything he says.
I’m sure this guy nearly broke his own arm waving to get picked for this. Please proceed, repugs.
This guy reminds me of Prince Valium of Space Balls, um, fame.
