strong incentives for people to obtain health insurance and keep it year-round,ā€

Weak ass shit.

Mandated coverage for all isthe only way it works. What BS ā€œcrucial listā€ weak sauce which will not sway a single Republican and gives them subjective outs all over the map.

There. Fixed.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Association

Sounds kinda Communist to me. Someone should put them on a sanctions list.

Yep. ā€œstrong incentives for people to obtain health insurance and keep it year-round,ā€ = mandate, BC/BS didnā€™t call it what it is.

Strong incentives are anti-freedom.

Were they around defending the ACA when Rubio pulled the risk corridors out from under them? Have they had spokespeople on the Internet and cable news explaining why rates have had to go up? How about their efforts to lobby the Republicans to work with the other party to fix flaws in the program? The only two people I have seen or heard clarifying some of these issues are Ali Velshi on CNN and Wendell Potter. Now Blue Cross comes out to play? Someone should tell the BC/BS executives that the Shah of Iran is dead and Carter lost the election to Reagan. They probably havenā€™t heard.

They couldnā€™t wait a couple more days to comment at the very last possible minute?

Sounds like the ā€œcrucial elementsā€ for any Oā€™Care repeal are Oā€™Care, right?

They should be demanding hearings.

Yawn. ā€œHereā€™s a list of things you can pretend to go down and satisfy so you can return us to the skyrocketing premiums we love.ā€

ā€œIn order to ensure a stable individual insurance marketplace, any final legislation must include these crucial elements to avoid steep premium increases and diminished choices that would make coverage unaffordable and inaccessible,ā€

Why donā€™t you have a business plan that makes your product affordable and accessible so you can gain more customers? You know, like maybe not paying your CEOs tens of million dollars a year. Or maybe you could cut down on the full color mailings that tell everyone how swell you areā€¦just a start.

Stupid memo. Just say if you repeal the whole thing collapses. Oppose it. Run ads against it.

As I once had BC/BS as an insurer, I can assure you their default response setting is glacial.

When Association is added to BC/BS not sure if that is the same organization.

Have had it most of my working career (other than a stint in the military) and they have always been good for me.

I have BC/BS for work and I pay $147 per month at my age of 59. That I think is pretty good. I have a $30 copay for visits. An average teenager is probably paying more than $147 per month for car insurance. It is the cycle of life.

I have heard the guy from Molina on NPR, and he is more direct and forcefu. His company stepped up here in New Mexico when Blue Cross bailed out. Iā€™m getting the same coverage at the same price. Even with all the craziness, his current request if for a 20% hike, way less than the others. I hope his business model suceeds. Iā€™m sick of companies screwing around with customers to try to get their mergers approved.
